Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Certifications (preferred): Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Lean Six Sigma, or safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, IOSH).
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of yarn dyeing machinery (e.g., package dyeing machines, Hank’s dyeing machine, RF dryers, Steam dryers, hydro-extractors, soft, hard & nylon winding, EOT crane, pumps, compressors, and effluent treatment plant (ETP) equipment. Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and PLC-based systems.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate across departments and with external partners.
Job Context:
The Maintenance Sr. Manager/ AGM is responsible for the strategic leadership and overall management of all maintenance activities within the yarn dyeing facility. This role ensures maximum equipment reliability, minimal production downtime, and optimal resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve the facility’s overall maintenance strategy, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs. Oversee the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities to align with production demands, minimizing disruption to dyeing processes. Ensure rapid response to breakdowns and oversee major repair projects to restore equipment with minimal downtime.
Lead, mentor, and manage the entire maintenance team, including Senior Maintenance Engineers, technicians, and supervisors.
Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, including spare parts inventory, tools, consumables, and outsourced services. Monitor maintenance costs (e.g., cost per machine hour, repair vs. replacement analysis) and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising reliability or safety.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local regulations, environmental standards, and industry safety protocols.
Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives to reduce unplanned breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Analyze equipment performance data (MTBF, MTTR) and implement long-term corrective actions for recurring mechanical/electrical issues.
Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Planning teams to schedule maintenance windows and support production targets.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), maintenance cost per unit, and schedule compliance. Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance records, modifications, drawings, and compliance logs.
