About Hexagon BdTech Limited
Hexagon BdTech Limited (HBL) is a Dhaka-based engineering and EPC firm active in Bangladesh's power, energy, and infrastructure sectors. We work across solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transmission and distribution, and EPC contracting — operating as both a prime contractor and a local subcontractor/agent on World Bank, ADB, and government-funded projects. HBL partners with leading global suppliers and a range of International Companies to deliver reliable, technically sound energy solutions across Bangladesh.
About the Role
HBL is looking for a multi-disciplinary Solar PV Engineer who can move comfortably between the technical and commercial sides of the business. This is not a narrowly defined role — you will be expected to develop solar PV business opportunities, engage directly with clients, assess and visit project sites, support proposal and tender preparation, and follow projects through to execution and handover. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety, can manage their own time across competing priorities, and is equally comfortable in a client meeting, on a rooftop conducting a site assessment, or working through technical specifications and BOQs at a desk.
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (with frequent travel to project/site locations nationwide)
Department: Solar PV / Renewable Energy
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement
Identify and pursue new solar PV business opportunities across industrial, commercial, and institutional clients
Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, acting as a primary technical and commercial point of contact
Support preparation of techno-commercial proposals, offers, and presentations for prospective clients
Represent HBL in client meetings, site discussions, and where required, industry events or seminars
Site Assessment & Technical Evaluation
Conduct site visits to assess roof/ground conditions, shading, structural suitability, electrical infrastructure, and load profiles for proposed solar PV (and BESS, where applicable) installations
Prepare site assessment reports, technical feasibility notes, and preliminary system sizing/design inputs
Coordinate with clients' technical teams to gather necessary data (electricity bills, load schedules, site drawings, etc.)
Proposal & Pre-Feasibility Development
Develop pre-feasibility studies, CAPEX/OPEX scenarios, and financial models for proposed solar PV and BESS systems
Prepare technical specifications, single-line diagrams (in coordination with design teams), and bill of quantities (BOQ) for client offers
Support preparation of tender/bid documents for government and donor-funded (World Bank, ADB, etc.) solar and energy projects, where relevant
Project Development & Execution
Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination during execution, working alongside EPC, procurement, and site teams
Liaise with manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and timely delivery
Monitor project progress on-site, troubleshoot technical or coordination issues, and report status to management
Assist in preparing project documentation, including commissioning reports, O&M materials, and client handover documents
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with HBL's engineering, procurement, and proposal teams to ensure consistency between commercial offers and technical execution capability
Contribute to internal knowledge-building on solar PV and BESS technologies, regulatory developments, and market trends in Bangladesh
What We Offer
Opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of solar PV and energy projects — from business development through execution
Exposure to large-scale, donor-funded, and private-sector renewable energy projects
A collaborative environment with experienced engineering and business development professionals
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentives
Professional growth opportunities within a growing renewable energy and EPC firm
