Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters in Marketing/ Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Business/ Economics/ Development Studies or any other relevant discipline.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 6 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contribute to develop the fund-raising strategy and plan.
∎ Assist in develop and set annual targets for fundraising following UCEP Bangladesh's Business Plan, explore potential funding sources (government agencies, donors, CSR, private sectors, industries, foundations, charities, individuals etc.) within and outside the country and provide timely and relevant information and guidance to the management and relevant departments.
∎ Conduct regular donor landscape screening, establish networks with likeminded agencies nationally and internationally and proactively identify fundraising opportunities including strategies and interventions to contribute towards marketing, branding and image building in the sector. Conduct research to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, potential investors, or general donor markets.
∎ Write proposals, grant applications and to prepare all other necessary paperwork and presentations independently with high level efficiency and effectiveness.
∎ Share reports covering major activities for publications in different modes like annual report.
∎ Contributing to draw a clear map of coordination with Program and Innovation department on roles and responsibilities and deliverables.
∎ Contribute to develop and ensure implementation of corporate fundraising programs and monitor progress of fundraising drives at central and regional levels.
∎ Contribute to establish effective fundraising mechanism, build capacity and teams/focal points at regional levels.
∎ Contribute to monitor budgets, expense reports, or other financial data for fundraising organizations.
∎ Contribute to create, maintain and update donor databases and ensure its due confidentiality
∎ Contribute to contact corporate representatives, government officials, or community leaders to increase awareness of organizational causes, activities, or needs.
∎ Contribute in direct or coordinate web-based fundraising activities.
∎ Contribute to solicit cash or in-kind donations or sponsorships from individual, business, or government donors
∎ Contribute to evaluate the success of fundraising events. Hold after action review (ACR) sessions following every events/programs and share the reports with management on a regular basis.
∎ Contribute to design or produce materials such as posters, promotional videos, web sites, or newsletters to promote, market, or advertise fundraising events.
∎ Contribute to attend community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organizational goals or solicit donations or sponsorships, make reports and share those following participation.
∎ Contribute to ensure that all legal reporting requirements and compliance aspects are satisfied.
∎ Develop qualitative and effective communication materials (print and electronic media, verbal etc.), both in English and Bangla (including appropriate and correct use of language) and effectively disseminate
∎ Establish mechanisms for reviewing and regular upgradation of digital and non-digital communication materials and ensure their subsequent and due preservation.
∎ Ensure development of guidelines and ensure necessary dissemination to internal and external stakeholders for branding, strategic alliances, marketing and fundraising.
∎ Write and edit clear and compelling media advisories and press releases and ensure regular media coverage as required.
∎ Contribute to or take charge of other initiatives and activities relevant to fundraising and communications as requested by the superiors.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 06 years' traceable successful experience of fund-raising and marketing including at least 3 years in managerial role in a large organization.
∎ Excellent command of communication skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Ability to write proposals, reports and other necessary documents for fundraising and communications.
∎ Excellent presentation skills, excellent organization skills.
∎ Excellent computer operating skills and conversant with CRM software, graphics design, social media management, relevant product development software, tools etc. and MS Office package.
∎ Ability to collect and analyze data and to recommend data driven decisions.
∎ Ability to monitor budgets, expense reports, or other financial data for fundraising organizations.
∎ Ability to deal effectively with the commercial aspects of fundraising, including costing projects and plans, tendering and negotiating contracts, trading, and both legal and tax requirements.
∎ Ability to conduct research to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, potential investors, or general donor markets.
∎ Ability to choose and apply various approaches or techniques for fundraising, including knowledge of a range of fundraising and campaigning techniques within an understanding of ethical principles and the external fundraising environment.
∎ Self-motivated, adaptable and team player.
∎ SOFT SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
∎ Focusing on the donor: awareness of the donor and their agendas is imperative to perform in this role. Some soft skills are required to understand the donor's vocabulary, body language to comprehend donors' priorities and interests. Awareness and sensitivity towards these will initiate the donor to explain the next stage.
∎ Social skills: The ability to come across as polished and gracious. Be a good listener and to make it all about the other person and create a good rapport.
∎ Ability to build a trusting relationship: to build a trusting relationship the most important thing is to do what you said you'd do. Follow up when you said you would. Get them what they asked for when they asked. Circle back promptly to them. To be punctual in delivering the promises.
