About the Project:

To enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) and reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in underserved and substandard urban settlements of Narayanganj and Gazipur Districts of Dhaka Division in Bangladesh, a project funded by The Light Foundation (TLF) aims to create a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 6 through Resource Centre’s (RCs) that will provide daycare services, pre-primary education, and legal aid support for their families.

Over the five-year project period, the consistent delivery of ECD services will support the long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical development of children, helping them build a stronger foundation for the future. Sustained legal aid services, community awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement with community members are expected to contribute to reducing GBV, creating a safer, more enabling environment for both the targeted children and the wider community.

About the role:

The Deputy Manager, Capacity Development will strengthen the skills of project staff and volunteers, focusing on community mobilisation and legal service delivery. The incumbent will assess learning needs, design and deliver training, SOPs, and other interventions, and ensure high-quality community mobilisation through mentoring and coordination with field teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of capacity building plans for SELP staff and programme participants, including training schedules and budgets.

  • Conduct learning needs assessments and prepare yearly and monthly training plans.

  • Assist in staff and participant training, including on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and social mobilisation activities.

  • Facilitate in preparing training materials, modules, and interactive learning tools as per programme needs.

  • Support Training of Trainers (ToT), and organise workshops, orientations, and sessions for staff and participants.

  • Visit field offices regularly to monitor training, gather learning, and ensure smooth programme implementation.

  • Track and evaluate training effectiveness, document best practices, challenges, and prepare reports for capacity building activities.

  • Maintain coordination with Head Office, field teams, and BRAC Education Programme to support integrated project delivery.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

This position is based in field-office within Dhaka Division.
