Experience:
Minimum of 5 years working experiences in Health, Nutrition, Food Security and Development project in Bangladesh with NGOs.
Demonstrated capacity in project management, with conceptual understanding
Strong understanding of key aspects of health, nutrition and development projects
Strong critical and analytical thinking capabilities
Team building capacity
Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Respect on gender, PSEA, Safeguarding and cultural diversity
Able to operate virtual communication platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
Shushilan, a national reputed NGO is going to implement a project entitled “Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) Project Bangladesh” with technical and financial support from FHI 360. Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project is a global project funded by the US Department of State and the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to strengthen Global Health Security (GHS), including outbreak response; improve maternal and child health (MCH), and promote health systems strengthening (HSS) including supply chain management. EpiC is led by FHI 360 with it’s implementation partners including Shushilan working in seven districts of Bangladesh where Shushilan is working in Jashore and Satkhira district. Shushilan is inviting application from the qualified and interested candidates for the following position.
Upazila Coordinator will report to District Coordinator;
S/he will responsible for Upazila Level planning and implementation of project under the guidance of District Coordinator.
S/he will responsible for the project Upazila team management and project implementation through Upazila Facilitators.
Build capacity and provide guidance to Upazila Facilitators for implementation of field level project activities;
S/he will responsible for Upazila level program management, regularly review progress, organize and facilitate training/orientation/meeting, monitoring, documentation, reporting and ensure quality service delivery.
Maintain regular liaison and communication with Health Facilities and government department especially Local Administration, Department of Health, Department of Livestock (DLS), Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), port, LGIs etc
Maintain regular communication and participate in health Facilities monthly meetings and different committees meetings especially Quality Improvement Committees (QICs), Public Health Emergency Operation Center (PHEOC) teams etc at Upazila and port level.
Organize competency development sessions for community health workers (CHCPs, FWAs, HAs, vaccinators) and service providers on promoting handwashing, safe waste management, animal handling, and early reporting
Organize competency building session for service providers and frontline workers from DLS and DAE (Veterinary Surgeon, Assistant Livestock Officer, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer) on farm biosecurity measures for zoonotic disease prevention during the monthly progress sharing meeting
Review progress in monthly meeting of health facility at Upazila
Collect community feedback and behavior trends during monthly coordination meetings at the upazila level for decision making
S/he will be responsible for regular visit to make functional of all Community Clinic, Community Groups (CGs), Union Health and Family Welfare Centers, Upazila Health Complex within his/her jurisdiction.
Monitor the progress of field activities and take initiative for corrective measures in consultation with District Coordinator;
Prepare progress reports on field activities;
Regular meeting with the project/program staff;
Conducted staff performance evaluation at regular basis;
Document the lesson learnt and best practices on field activities;
Organize and attend various important training, meeting, seminar, workshop at upazila and district level;
Support the field team to organize and take necessary preparation for donor visit and produce report;
Facilitate field staff understanding of organization’s values, vision, mission statements and partnership standards, project directions, goals etc;
Respect, maintain and monitor code of conduct practice;
All kind of positive motivation to support and response in emergency situation;
In addition to that any other duties and responsibilities may assigned by the authority / organization which need to be carried out.
