Job Context:
∎ About Terre des hommes:
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the leading Swiss INGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 30 countries with development and emergency projects. Tdh interventions are focused on the three programs: Health, Migration and Access to Justice particularly for vulnerable children. Tdh Foundation has a transversal approach towards Child Protection programming and it cuts across all the thematic areas while also has been considered as one of the key value propositions in its business model. The Child Protection expertise within Tdh Foundation aims to develop high quality, evidence-based knowledge and know-how adapted to fragile contexts, conflict zones, and development to improve the protection of children`s rights and their right to protection from all forms of violence (art 19, 34 CRC) in collaboration with and in support of the three core programs. The Tdh Foundation global strategy 2021-2024 specifies that the will have demonstrated that rights-based participation, empowerment, and active involvement of children and communities in defining and implementing responses are essential to improve child protection.
∎ Context:
∎ Tdh is working in Bangladesh since 1974, with operations in Kurigram district, Dhaka district and Cox Bazaar district. Currently, Tdh is implementing programs on Health, Access to Justice (social cohesion and conflict resolution) and Migration, integrated by the transversal expertise WASH and Child protection. Tdh interventions in Bangladesh are both in development and emergency context.
∎ Following the massive displacement of more than 800,000 people into Bangladesh since the end of August 2017, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on Health, WASH, Child Protection and Social cohesion. Alongside, Tdh is implementing the CLARISSA project in Dhaka slums aiming to build a strong evidence base and generate innovative solutions to the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) and will explore how to take these solutions to scale.
∎ Tdh in Bangladesh has started the process of integration of emergency and development approaches and aims to capitalize its institutional learning for further programme expansion and to create critical pathways for evidence-based advocacy.
∎ Purpose of the Post:
∎ The purpose of the position is to ensure logistics support in the Primary health care centre in Camp-27, Teknaf.
∎ He/she works in complete line with the project strategy, TDH Code of Conduct and alongside supervisors and line managers.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure permanent ambulance transportation service (24/7) :
∎ Proper rotation of drivers.
∎ Regular check of ambulance and ambulances equipment.
∎ Maintains maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Inspection for defects. Notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facilities for repair.
∎ Be available for calls from ambulance drivers if security issues or maintenance issues arise
∎ Ensure proper equipment follow-up (medical & non-medical), stock management (medicine & consumable items) and reporting :
∎ Create and keep updated PHC asset database.
∎ Organize reception and installation of the PHC equipment.
∎ Manage proper maintenance of the equipment
∎ Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
∎ Develop procedures and train employees on stock transaction procedures and proper material handling.
∎ Provides input for departmental budget and manages budgeted expenditures.
∎ Actively participates in all continuous improvement activities in logistics.
∎ Perform regular physical inventories.
∎ Proper inventory and report of medicine, medical equipment & consumable items.
∎ Ensure regular security and upkeep of the PHC premises :
∎ Perform regular checking of PHC premises (electricity, plumbing, generator)
∎ Plan and implement needed precautious for the rainy season
∎ Plan and implement needed materials and precautions for outbreaks or mass casualty events
∎ Manage & supervise PHC guards.
∎ Support WASH & Sanitation officer in waste management.
∎ Ensure enough energy supply of PHC by proper generator management.
∎ Fulfill any other duties that situation may require directed by line manager.
∎ Security Focal Point (24/7) :
∎ Train the guards to keep the PHC secure by walking the parameter.
∎ Ensure the staff is trustworthy and knowledgeable of TDH Code of Conduct.
∎ Train guards and crowd controllers to react appropriately to upset and aggressive crowds or beneficiaries including government, police, army and political beneficiaries.
∎ Be available by phone to be the first line of security information- responsible for having phone on, charged and have credit.
∎ Responsible for calling PHC Manager or Field Coordinator or Health Coordinator to immediately inform of possible security breeches based on PHC rules.
∎ Liaison with Log manager of Teknaf TDH.
∎ Site logistic supervisor should maintain close lesion with Log manager of Teknaf TDH base for all logistic and security issues.
∎ Supervisory Responsibilities:
∎ Positions which report directly to the PHC Site Logistics Supervisor: Guards, Cleaners, WatSan, storekeeper, drug dispenser and any Daily workers as needed.
∎ Performs all normal supervisory functions, to include hiring, training, appraisal, counseling, and discipline.
∎ Participates in Supervisory meetings and works collaboratively with all departments.
∎ It is every employee's responsibility to be aware of and adhere to the applicable Safety & Health, Quality and Environmental Process of Terre des hommes.
∎ Others:
∎ Accepts new responsibilities as and when those are assigned by the line supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum of 4 years Professional Logistics experience with NGO and INGO.
∎ Experience in site management and logistics
∎ Experience in emergencies will be considered as a plus
∎ Experience working with international NGOs is an added advantage
∎ Previous experience working in refugee camp will be a plus
∎ Fluency in English, both in writing and speaking, is a must
∎ Knowledge of spoken local languages/dialects (Chittagonian and Rohingya) Will be Added advantage
∎ Computer literacy and excellent handling of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint presentations, excel spreadsheets) is a must
∎ As well as the following specific professional competencies:

∎ Good communication skills, both verbal and written communication
∎ Analyzing
∎ Work independently and with short deadlines
∎ Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally, and externally with vendors, freight companies, and others Ability to respond effectively and in a timely manner to departmental needs, focusing on health service.
∎ Ability to compile reports and compose general business correspondence.
