Job Context:
∎ Sustainable Supply Chain, Building & Fire Safety Senior Specialist’s key responsibility is to make sure that production units (PUs) in Bangladesh are following the local law related to the legally required Building code/Labor Law and any additional C&A requirements. This role is responsible for corrective action plans and capacity building efforts with C&A Suppliers and their PUs to make sure they follow all safety measures related to Building, Electrical & Fire Safety management practices which will ensure safe working condition for workers and their PUs in Bangladesh.
∎ This role will engage with Suppliers and their PUs and make sure they meet both Bangladesh legal and industry standards on Building, Electrical and Fire Safety.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Building & Fire Safety Senior Specialist will be responsible for managing Building and Fire Safety requirements in all PUs manufacturing for C&A in Bangladesh related to Building Safety and Fire safety including new countries i.e. Pakistan/India or other countries incase rolled out.
∎ Senior Specialist’s will be responsible for follow up with the Supplier and PUs on CAP
∎ Senior Specialist must visit all PUs per year for Building Safety Audits and follow-up including new countries i.e. Pakistan/India or other countries incase rolled out.
∎ Monthly update to SSC and/or Sourcing teams on Building & Fire Safety Risk status for the New/Old PUs and escalate on delay work progress as needed
∎ Work with supplier/PUs to achieve 100% remediation.
∎ Senior Specialist’s visits will be based on visual assessments of Building and Fire safety standards based on legal and industry standards (Accord). If any risks are found the officer will escalate to the next level and work with the factory management and ensure CAP completed in a timely manner. Where necessary work collaboratively with other brands utilizing the same PU.
∎ If an unsafe PU is identified, Officer will inform to the next level for appropriate action as per Accord and C&A guidelines.
∎ The Senior Specialist will oversee all initial audit requests and conduct visit PUs to identify any risk prior to onboard the factory.
∎ The Senior Specialist is required to provide the line manager weekly updates on PU performance.
∎ Conduct Supplier and PU training on Building, Electrical and Fire safety and update them on CAP challenges and best practices.
∎ Train the HUB team and suppliers on Electrical and Building safety.

Additional Requirements:
∎ • Strong knowledge and experience of Building, Electrical and Fire safety audits.
∎ • Practical experience of factory remediation and development including recommendation of effective CAPs and best practices.
∎ • Good knowledge of Bangladesh Building, Electrical and Fire Safety legal requirements and industry standards (Accord and Alliance)
∎ • Working knowledge of global building, electrical and fire safety global requirements and best practices.
∎ • Strong negotiation, convincing skills and communication skills
∎ • Skills to track data, effectively report findings and data analysis
