Job Context:
∎ Location: Based in Camps, Ukhiya.
∎ Contract Duration: The duration of the proposed contract is up to December 31, 2020.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibility # 1: GBV program implementation at field level:
∎ Work closely with the team to design activities that respond to identified needs.
∎ Prepare and maintain/update detailed work plan(s) that support and achieve activities in line with project outcomes.
∎ Oversee and provide guidance for age appropriate and relevant psychosocial activities for women and adolescent girls.
∎ Provide support and technical and management advice to the program team to ensure that the WGSS's activities are implemented according to GBV guidelines and donor requirements.
∎ Monitor timely implementation of the WGSS and outreach activities.
∎ Evenly split your time between each of the WGSSs under your responsibility, ensuring the majority of your time is spent in the WGSSs/with outreach teams, noting and sharing constructive feedback, concerns and suggestions from the field team.
∎ Arrange capacity building events for the project team members with support from the GBV PM and GBV Capacity Building Coordinator.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 3-5 years' experience with a minimum of two years' work experience of GBV in emergencies, protection, and gender programing, working with an NGO/INGO required.
∎ Experience of supervising field staff required.
∎ Experience & technical skills:
∎ Demonstrated experience in leading field teams in GBV in emergencies, clear understanding of gender, human rights, and issues surrounding violence against women and girls, risk mitigation and PSS programing.
∎ Strong knowledge of IASC GBV Guidelines and Gender Handbook, Humanitarian Principles, IASC Protection, GBV and CP minimum standards and guidelines.
∎ Must be comfortable and confident to attend and facilitate internal/external meetings, representing GBV issues.
∎ Experience on counselling and training for survivors of abuse or violence and implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women's rights/groups.
∎ Clear understanding of gender, human rights, issues surrounding violence against women and girls.
∎ Practical field experience working in camps or spontaneous/informal/makeshift settlements required.
∎ Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in team setting.
∎ Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, priorities work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
∎ Experience facilitating trainings and workshops and mentoring others.
∎ Excellent interpersonal and staff management skills, problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
∎ Excellent report writing skills in English.
∎ Strong computer skills on MS word, Excel, PowerPoint.
∎ GBVIMS experience advantage.
∎ Excellent communication skills, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, background and diversity.
∎ REQUIRED: Fluent communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla, Rohingya/Chitagonian. English advantage.
