Job Context:
∎ FCDO’s Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crisis (ERICC) programme, a 6 year, £16 million program’s vision is ambitious and urgent: to expand and strengthen the evidence base for education in conflict and protracted crisis (EiCC), and in doing so, provide the kind of evidence that will spark bold reform of education policies and practices for children of all ages in conflict and crisis settings. ERICC represents the largest global investment in EiCC research to date.The ERICC Research Programme Consortium (RPC) is made up of nine leading research and education organisations from around the world, focusing on strengthening the use of evidence in EiCC across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The ERICC RPC in Bangladesh will be led by International Rescue Committee (IRC). The role of IRC Bangladesh is to lead the country scan process in Cox’ Bazar for the ERICC inception phase. The intended impact of the ERICC program includes:
∎ (i) strengthened education programme in FCDO focal countries/regions;
∎ (ii) a rigorous body of evidence on what works for education in conflict and protracted crisis;
∎ (iii) decision makers access and use evidence on education in conflict and protracted crisis;
∎ (iv) knowledge systems strengthened for research on education in conflict and protracted crisis
∎ Department: Education
∎ Work Location: Ukhiya (Refuge Camp)
∎ Reporting to: Sr. Manager – Basic Education
∎ Contract Length: Up to March 31, 2023 (with possibility of extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Sr. Project Officer will perform a variety of tasks under the guidance of Manager – Research and Manager – Data Management for completion of the inception phase activities under the project including, but not limited to:
∎ - Organize different meetings and workshops as needed for the project.
∎ - Raise related PRs, vehicle requisitions and maintain good relations with support departments.
∎ - Support note taking for the KIIs done by Manager – Research and Research Specialist.
∎ - Support local language translation where needed and work as interpreter while conducting KII and partners consultations.
∎ - Ensure logistical support for workshop, training and other relevant activities.
∎ - Support Manager – Research to develop KII data collection instruments
∎ - Support Manager – Research on comprehensive evidence or literature review of existing education research reports, briefs, peer reviewed publications and education policies.
∎ - Support Manager – Data Management to do data system mapping.

∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum bachelor’s degree from any field or the equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from Education, Social Welfare, Sociology, Development Studies, and English will be preferable.
∎ At least 2 years with NGO/INGOs. Working experience with Education program will be an additional value.
∎ Experience of working with refugees and vulnerable groups of people
∎ Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of people from a variety of backgrounds.
∎ Cultural awareness and ability to build links quickly with a wide variety of people.
∎ Strong writing skill and speaking proficiency in both English and Bangla
∎ Understanding of local dialect will be an additional value.
∎ Should be willing to travel to project areas (Camps & Host) at regular basis

Salary: Tk. 70200 (Monthly)
