- Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Responsibilities & Context:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the transport team, including vehicle allocation, route planning, and delivery scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Maintain and monitor vehicle performance and schedules to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of goods to clients.
- Manage and oversee the maintenance and repair of transport vehicles to avoid downtime.
- Supervise a team of drivers and other transport personnel, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Manage transportation budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.Analyze data related to transportation operations, such as fuel usage, route effectiveness, and delivery times, to generate reports for management.
- Handle transportation-related customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed during transportation operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers, and logistics partners.
