Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Java Developer will have a strong background in Java programming, with a passion for developing efficient, scalable, and accessible software solutions.
∎ Primary Responsibilities:
∎ * Design, implement, and maintain Java-based applications that are high-volume and low-latency.
∎ * Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
∎ * Analyse user requirements to define business objectives.
∎ * Envisioning system features and functionality.
∎ * Ensure designs comply with specifications.
∎ * Prepare and produce releases of software components.
∎ * Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
∎ * Key bug-fixes and solution design and review with operational teams.
∎ * Automation design in various solution components
∎ * Application support and enhancements
∎ * Production issue root cause analysis and solution design for the support fixes and enhancements
∎ * Multi environment deployment and testing co-ordination for live system changes
∎ Core Competencies:
∎ Experience in the Spring Framework.
∎ Experience in developing applications using microservices architecture.
∎ Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
∎ Experience with PostgreSQL database and understand of database versioning tools like Flyway.
∎ Experience with unit tests tools like Junit and Mockito.
∎ Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
∎ Experience with Quarkus is a big plus.

∎ Education and experience:
∎ Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
∎ Proven hands-on Software Development experience.
∎ Proven over 5 years of working experience in Java development.
∎ Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
∎ Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns.
∎ Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc).
∎ Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
∎ Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
