Job Responsibilities:
∎ Feasibility study on Fish hatchery in the location, Prepare layout, fish Hatchery design and construction.
∎ Brood pond and fish Brood development. Lead the hatchery construction work, prepares estimates of revenue and expenditure and manages approved budget allocations.
∎ Look after the whole hatchery operation like Determines, administers, and executes policies relating to administration, standards of hatchery operations, and facility maintenance.
∎ Manage all aspects of stock collection, brood stock management, larval rearing, live feeds management and fish husbandry.
∎ Undertake investigative surveys of water quality and the health, spawning and movement of fish.
∎ Oversee trapping and spawning of fish, egg incubation, and fry rearing, applying knowledge of management and fish culturing techniques.
∎ Compile and present reports as required on technical aspects of projects.
∎ Responsible for assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of permanent and seasonal employees, including overseeing the hatching, rearing, and planting of fish including air plant.
∎ Oversight of the hatchery’s maintenance including employee housing and all shops, wells, and outbuildings.
∎ Train and hand-hold the hatchery staff for production fish fry.
