Alfamart, a leading Indonesian international convenience store chain and one of the largest in its home country, is entering the Bangladesh retail market through a joint venture with Kazi Farms Limited, under the name Alfamart Trading Bangladesh. With an ambitious vision to set new benchmarks in retail customer experience, the project is currently in its pre-opening phase. To be part of this exciting journey, we are seeking a competent Retail Merchandiser / Category Merchandising Executive to oversee and coordinate all functions in close collaboration with both the Indonesian project team and local stakeholders.
Job Purpose:
The Retail Merchandiser / Category Merchandising Executive is responsible for ensuring a complete and competitive assortment that supports the achievement of company targets for sales, gross margin, and other income, in alignment with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Propose new product offers from suppliers to management, supported by complete information for decision-making.
Adjust purchase and selling prices in accordance with management approval and company policy.
Assist management in evaluating supplier performance and service levels, providing recommendations for improvement or changes as needed.
Coordinate with the Operations department to manage the return and clearance of slow-moving, bad stock, and overstock items in compliance with company guidelines.
Monitor and evaluate product sales performance against company standards, recommending alternative products where necessary.
Oversee product distribution and ensure accurate placement in stores through coordination with operations.
Plan and ensure the timely procurement of approved promotional and new products in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Select and recommend potential suppliers to management based on quality, pricing, payment terms, discounts, rebates, and product range.
Remuneration will be offered depending upon the profile of the candidate.
