Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage assigned sub category's full product life cycle
∎ Deliver all technical aspects of product development, in line with the Quality management system and Quality policy to ensure the business' products are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations
∎ Ensure products meet all quality, legal and safety requirements
∎ Ensure all responsible products are delivered on time shipments with no quality incidents at destination
∎ Maintain effective working relationship with related internal and external stakeholders in Asia and UK
∎ What I need to do:
∎ Ensure suppliers understand Sainsbury's Technical Requirements
∎ Assist Senior Quality Technologist to implement QA/QC strategies to support the business growth
∎ Ensure technical approvals & timeliness adhere to the Critical Path coordinating hand in hand with UK, Merchandiser & supplier
∎ Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product quality and process requirements
∎ Support Merchandising and Compliance with supplier approval process
∎ Manage root cause analysis and corrective action process of supplier quality issues
∎ Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues
∎ Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
∎ Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
∎ Ensure all incidents, escalations and continuous improvements are diligently managed and followed up
∎ Participation in buying trips, supplier selection & risk assessment
∎ Develop and maintain relationship with external stakeholders including suppliers and third party inspection and testing service providers
∎ How I will succeed:
∎ Ensure product approvals are within Critical path deadline
∎ Ensure pre-shipment inspection pass rate is within the targets
∎ Ensure product return rate from consumer is within target
∎ Ensure technical cost within the agreed budget.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 4-8 years related quality technical experience in sourcing, retail, manufacturing or product development environment
∎ Extensive knowledge of quality systems, ethical audits, testing requirements and manufacturing processes
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Robust personality able to work under pressure and make balanced decisions
∎ Competent in problem solving
∎ Commercial awareness, experience in dealing with customer and suppliers
∎ Experience with manufacturing practices in Asia
∎ Proven technical skills within the product area
∎ Familiar with UK legislation and requirements
∎ Fluently written and spoken English
∎ Willingness to travel within Asia
