Responsibilities & Context:
1. Develop, Implement, and Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS):
· Design, communicate, and enforce a comprehensive quality plan, policies, procedures, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) aligned with company standards, international certifications (e.g., ISO, Oeko-Tex, GOTS), and buyer-specific requirements.
· Ensure the QMS operates effectively at all levels and continuously improve it to exceed customer expectations.
· Prepare and maintain a quality manual that unifies policies, methods, and measures across the factory.
2. Oversee Inspections and Quality Control Across the Production Cycle:
· Take full responsibility for quality functions, including incoming raw material/fabric inspection, in-process (inline and end-line) checks, and final goods/finished product inspection and testing.
· Implement and monitor systems like AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) sampling, Traffic Light Chart for inline inspection, pre-production sample evaluation, pattern/specification checks, measurement audits, workmanship, fitting, and accessory verification.
· Conduct pre-final and final audits; approve or reject lots based on buyer specs; manage statistical audits and zero-defect targets.
· Review first-output garments, size sets, and critical operations; follow up on deviations and implement corrective actions.
3. Ensure Buyer Compliance, Audits, and Regulatory Standards:
· Independently handle buyer inspections, third-party audits, and QA procedures; maintain strong relationships with buyers and ensure adherence to their SOPs and protocols.
· Manage product safety compliance (needle detection, chemical/restricted substance control, fire safety) and social/labor compliance standards.
· Coordinate with merchandising, production, IE, and planning teams for on-time, defect-free shipments.
· In 2026 context: Oversee traceability (QR codes, digital dashboards), environmental compliance (ETP, chemical management), and sustainability certifications to meet EU CSDDD and buyer ESG demands.
4. Lead, Train, and Develop the Quality Team
· Provide strong leadership to QA/QC staff, GPQ (Garment Production Quality) teams, and inspectors; build a high-performance culture with ownership and accountability.
· Identify training needs; deliver quality seminars, coaching, and technical workshops on AQL, defect prevention, and new tools.
· Motivate personnel and ensure continuous skill enhancement.
5. Drive Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, and Problem Solving
· Perform root cause analysis for quality issues; implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) with full documentation.
· Monitor supplier performance, control rejects/repairable, and reduce wastage.
· Analyze statistical data, production reports, and quality metrics; report deviations to senior management daily.
· Collaborate on process improvements, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other frameworks; integrate automation and AI for predictive quality control and real-time defect detection (a growing expectation in 2026 smart factories).
