Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Technology, Animal Science, or related field.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in grain quality control, preferably in a trading or procurement setup.
In-depth knowledge of Jute, grain grading standards and testing procedures.
Familiarity with local grain markets
Technically sound in grain testing methods
The Jute Spot Purchase QC Officer is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw jute procured from local markets meets company specifications. This includes on-site inspection, grading, sample verification, documentation, and coordination with the procurement and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Quality Assurance
Perform real-time quality inspection of raw jute (e.g., Tossa, Mesta, White jute) during spot purchases at market yards or collection centers.
Accurately grade jute as per TD1 to TD8 standards, or buyer-defined specifications.
Detect and reject stocks with high moisture content, pest infestation, bark/root contamination, or adulteration.
Procurement Support
Collaborate closely with purchase teams to identify high-quality lots with competitive pricing.
Provide technical guidance to procurement officers and suppliers on quality parameters and acceptable standards.
Prevent quality-related disputes and rejections by ensuring compliance at the purchase point.
Sampling, Testing & Documentation
Conduct random sampling and moisture testing using approved tools and procedures.
Maintain detailed QC logs, including inspection notes, photographic records, grading tags, and supplier quality performance.
Submit QC verification reports for every consignment prior to warehouse receipt.
Supplier Evaluation & Compliance
Evaluate and score suppliers based on quality consistency and reliability.
Assist in developing and implementing pest control and drying protocols at procurement points.
Ensure full compliance with company’s raw jute procurement policy and government standards.
