∎ With the generous funding from Danish government CARE Bangladesh introduce a SPA-funded country program for Bangladesh for civil society strengthening and engagement with the government for improved disaster risk reduction hereby addressing the severe impact of climate change for refugees and host communities. This program will primarily target the host communities around Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar but will also build stronger cohesion and dialogue between host and refugee communities in the area. The working title for the program is" Accountable Governance for Disaster Risk Reduction & Improved social cohesion between host community and refugees in Cox's Bazar."
∎ With guidance from the Program Director - Humanitarian Response, the Project Manager will be responsible for the implementation of project in field level. S/he will be responsible for overall project planning, management, administration and finances, including monitoring and reporting of the project. The PM will facilitate effective coordination in operational area with other agency members and stakeholders. S/he will support the targeted communities by means of ensuring accountable disaster risk reduction mechanism and improved social cohesion between host and refugees.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in project management in community based disaster risk reduction, climate change, governance, institutional capacity building etc. projects.
∎ Experience of using gender and women empowerment as cross cutting approach in development, DRR and governance projects.
∎ Experience in budget management of multi-year grants ensuring donor compliance.
∎ Demonstrated capacity to work with teams, partners and other organizations to facilitate learning and knowledge development.
∎ Experience in developing strong stakeholder relations with Local government, administration and civil society actors.
∎ Strong communication, report writing and presentation skill in Bangla and English.
∎ Experience in participatory development approaches including participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
