Experience:
More than 7 years of relevant project management leadership experience in savings credit and cooperative/SHGs promotion, women empowerment, agriculture value chain and marketing etc.
Basic computer skills in MS Office.
Must have skills in making donor reports (English and Bangla).
Ability to work under pressure and dual/multi-management.
Have to drive a motorcycle with a valid driving license.
Maximum 50 years (Age is relaxed for more experienced candidates).
Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) is a national voluntary social welfare organization. JCF is implementing BD Beef and Goat Value Chain Signature Program (BD- 16) in Natore supported by HEIFER International. To ensure the quality implementation of the project, JCF intends to recruit project staff from qualified candidates of Bangladeshi nationals.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare detail implementation plan (DIP) and yearly project budget in consultation with Heifer International Bangladesh program team by specifying the activities and timelines.
Ensure Self Help Group (SHG) and Cooperative formation on time, strengthen the cooperative capacity to organizational (leadership, management, good governance system development, policy and procedure, monitoring etc.), ensuring savings generation and credit business management.
Prepare required guidelines on agriculture production, agriculture inputs including livestock management, market linkage with market actors and linkage support and networking for more production and business opportunity in local market for effective project implementation.
Lead the team for identify the beneficiaries and ensure to follow the developed business model for farmers cooperation for developing group and individual IGAs development.
Explore public and private organizations for joint initiatives to establish viable and sustainable business ventures for income enhancement of cooperatives using project, private and local government opportunities, facilitate coops to set marketing goals, connect coops with the market to sell their products and mobilise resources to leverage.
Build functional partnerships for coops with relevant stakeholders (private sector, government agencies, other cross-cutting providers, etc.) for sustainable product marketing such as small feed mills, transport, tractor and seasonal business.
Identify and build linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with partners and other stakeholders.
Support cooperatives leadership capacity building for efficient operation of cooperatives IGA, financial services and microcredit business development and savings enhancement in cooperatives.
Establish and activate different businesses such as product aggregation and buyer linkage, commercial transportation service for Coops business, contracting/sub-contracting with different stakeholders.
Assist to solve business related problems based on need as per cooperative’s bylaws.
Build capacity of the staff, Coops staff through facilitating training, coaching and other capacity building initiatives on agriculture production, market facilitation, leadership, conflict management, business development, governance, organization development, etc
Participate in monthly meetings of Cooperative, review their financial and business reports and provide feedback; provide mentoring and coaching to coops to build local capacity for understanding and connecting with markets.
Form Project Management Committees (PMC), Project advisory committee at union, upazila and district level as per guideline. Facilitate meeting for leveraging service and resources for ensure CaLF
Build strong relationship and maintain liaison with Upazila level stakeholders particularly UNO, Cooperative Office, Agriculture department, Marketing department, Women and Child Affairs Office, UP, Elites and develop and manage partnership with private sectors and market actors.
Review and verify quarterly fund requisition, develop the report, regular financial report and ensure timely submission; engage monthly and quarterly budget versus expenditure progress.
Select appropriate participants from cooperative for access to finance from bank and monthly follow up their repayments. Also follow the enterprise development guideline provided by Heifer International Bangladesh.
Support management and partner team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Maintain humanitarian national and international standards applicable.
