Education:
  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Climate Change and Development, Gender Studies, Human Resource Development, Labour Studies, or any relevant discipline from a recognized university.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in training, capacity building, project implementation, labour rights, climate justice, social protection, or development programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing training curricula, facilitating workshops, and coordinating multi-stakeholder events.
  • Sound understanding of labour rights, gender equality, trade union movements, social protection systems, climate change, sustainability, and/or Just Energy Transition issues.
  • Experience working with RMG workers, worker organizations, trade unions, civil society organizations, or labour-focused projects will be highly preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to undertake frequent field visits and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.


Responsibilities & Context:

Karmojibi Nari (KN) is a women-led national organization dedicated to promoting the rights, dignity, leadership, and socio-economic empowerment of women workers in Bangladesh. KN is implementing the project “Fashion Forward: Promoting a Just Transition for RMG Workers”, supported by Oxfam in Bangladesh. The project aims to strengthen the collective voice and capacity of Ready-Made Garment (RMG) workers, Worker Rights Organizations (WROs), Trade Unions (TUs), and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to advocate for a worker-centered and equitable Just Energy Transition (JET) in Bangladesh’s apparel sector.

To support the implementation of this initiative from February 2026 to March 2027, KN invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Training Officer (TO).

Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (with frequent travel to project locations and stakeholder meetings as required)

Job Responsibilities

The Training Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator (PC) and will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and implementing training, awareness-building, advocacy, and capacity-strengthening activities under the project.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Building and Training

  • Design, coordinate, and implement awareness sessions, training programs, workshops, and capacity development initiatives on Just Energy Transition (JET), climate justice, workers’ rights, social protection, occupational safety and gender equality.
  • Develop and update training modules, facilitator guides, presentations, IEC materials, and other learning resources tailored for RMG workers, WROs, TUs, and CSOs.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate training sessions, workshops, and learning events for project stakeholders.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and support capacity assessments of worker organizations and trade unions regarding their engagement in JET advocacy and policy processes.

Project Implementation and Coordination

  • Support the implementation of project activities related to evidence generation, awareness raising, coalition building, and policy advocacy.
  • Coordinate with consultants, researchers, trainers, media professionals, and resource persons for effective delivery of project activities.
  • Liaise with Worker Rights Organizations (WROs), Trade Unions (TUs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), government stakeholders, and RMG sector representatives.
  • Organize and coordinate stakeholder consultations, dialogues, information fairs, public campaigns, workshops, and advocacy events.

Coalition Building and Advocacy Support

  • Support the establishment and functioning of a national coalition of WROs, TUs, and CSOs working on Just Energy Transition and workers’ rights.
  • Assist in organizing quarterly coalition meetings and developing joint action plans.
  • Contribute to the preparation of advocacy materials, policy briefs, and campaign messages related to workers’ interests in climate and energy transition policies.
  • Support engagement with government ministries, industry associations, brands, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to promote worker-inclusive climate action policies.

Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and collect qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Document training outcomes, lessons learned, case studies, success stories, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain participant databases, attendance records, monitoring data, and activity documentation.
  • Prepare training reports, event reports, monthly progress updates, and other project documentation in both Bangla and English.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting requirements.

Media and Communication Support

  • Coordinate with media partners and communication teams to support public awareness campaigns on Just Energy Transition, workers’ welfare, and climate-resilient employment.
  • Assist in organizing media events, documentaries, and communication initiatives promoting workers’ voices in climate transition discussions.

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with the Finance and Administration team to ensure timely implementation of project activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator or organizational management.
