Job Context:
∎ Community-Based Mental Health Services for Children and Young People in Marginalised Communities.
∎ Reports to: Executive Director, DCF
∎ Contract: Contract up to May 2024 with possible extension
∎ About the Project Coordinator position: Based at the Disabled Child Foundation office in Dhaka, the job holder will be responsible for overall coordination, management, and implementation of the project under the partnership agreement with ADD International Bangladesh and Disabled Child Foundation (DCF). The project coordinator will work in the project locations (Khilgaon and Badda) and at the national level with persons with mental health and psychosocial disabilities, persons with disabilities, organisations of persons with disabilities (OPD), and CBOs. Other participants in the project would be community people especially children and youth at risk, educational institutions, local government institutions, the government, especially the NCDC of DGHS, the National Institute of Mental Health, civil society organisations, I/NGOs, etc. The key role also includes policy advocacy work related to mental health, project cycle management, budget preparation and financial monitoring and management, tracking progress of result framework indicators, and the preparation of various reports and learning documents. The job holder will also engage in liaison and coordination with donors (ADD) and other consortium members as necessary and overall management of the project activities as per the agreement for the project.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall management and coordination of the project activities as per the guidance of the project (proposal, result framework, operational plan, budget, etc.) and project manager
∎ Prepare the project operational plan as per the project task chart and implement it at the field level.
∎ Prepare the programme and budget forecast with the assistance of the finance officer and conduct a regular review of the budget expenditure in terms of the progress of implementation.
∎ Networking and policy advocacy with appropriate policy and law makers.
∎ Regular coordination with project participants, including OPDs, CBOs, and other local partners,
∎ Visiting project implementation locations on a regular basis and providing technical support to project staff members, volunteers, and others as appropriate.
∎ Oversee project finance, budget, and expenditure tracking, and prepare project progress narratives and financial reports as per the requirements of the implementing organisation and donor.
∎ Monitoring and supervision of the staff, monitoring, and performance
∎ Organise regular team meetings and also attend various meetings as directed.
∎ Facilitate community activities and follow up on the overall progress of the project towards achieving the project outcome.
∎ Project data monitoring and data management as per project targets, along with knowledge management, preparation of learning documentation, story of changes, and reporting to the donor
∎ SAFEGUARDING:
∎ Ensure familiarity with and compliance with child and vulnerable adult safeguarding policies, conduct safeguard risk assessments, and undertake training as required.
∎ Contribute to creating and maintaining an environment that prevents safeguarding violations and promotes the implementation of safeguarding policies.
∎ Report any concerns or suspicions regarding safeguarding violations by any staff member or associated personnel to the child and vulnerable adult focal person or appropriate government reporting channels.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Special training in psychological counselling and or Mental Health First Aid will add value to the position.
∎ Professional experience in national or international development NGOs for at least 3 years in similar work. Previous working experience in mental health projects in a similar position will add value.
∎ Strong background in project coordination and management.
∎ Good understanding of mental health, psychosocial disability, in general disability rights and legal instruments, national and international declarations, and emerging issues on disability, particularly mental health and social stigma issues.
∎ Good understanding about OPDs and working attitudes with persons with disabilities.
∎ Ability to identify and articulate or present project work at various forums.
∎ Ability to work in a multi-organisational team and adopt a team style that adds value to work and reinforces good working practices.
∎ Have proficiency in facilitation skills and can effectively handle discussions with a focus on both groups and individuals.
∎ Cross-culturally adept, gender-sensitive, and safeguarding sensitive.
∎ Good understanding of the overall health system and structure (and especially non communicable diseases) and socio-cultural issues and practices of Bangladesh.
∎ Good understanding of financial management, budget preparation, and variance analysis.
∎ Good oral and written communication skills in both Bengali and English.
∎ Advanced computer skills, including working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Salary:
∎ BDT 45,000.00-50,000.00 Monthly Gross (inclusive all benefits) depending on experience and qualification
