∎ Minimum 05 Years working experience in pattern making, cutting and sewing of garments sector.
∎ Females are encouraged to apply.
∎ Have good knowledge and the ability to interpret fashion designers’ sketches or client requirements.
∎ Strong understanding of fabric types and cutting techniques.
∎ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Bhasan Char camp opened a new chapter in the world for the support to refugees in Bangladesh. Bhasan Char is a new island of Bangladesh situated in the deep sea with distance of 28 nautical miles West from Patenga of Chattogram and 21 nautical miles South from Noakhali district.
∎ The area of the island is 26 Sq. Km. and within the embankment, the land area is about 7 Sq. Km. For the relocation of refugees from the Cox’s Bazar, the Govt. of Bangladesh established the Bhasan Char Camp in 2020. For up-scaling the livelihood and self-reliance opportunities for the refugees in Bhasan Char, with the support of UNHCR, NGO Forum is implementing skills and livelihoods services for the refugees living in Bhasan Char.
∎ The main objective of this position is to carry out the duties and responsibilities of ‘Production Assistant’ to ensuring a cost-effective, quality-driven, and timely production process.
∎ The position supports both upstream (design and planning) and downstream (cutting and manufacturing) activities, making it a key enabler of production excellence. Therefore, recruiting and retaining a qualified Production Assistant is essential to maintaining production integrity, reducing costs, and supporting growth in a competitive market.
∎ Key Duties & Responsibilities:
∎ Create accurate paper patterns for Production center.
∎ Develop base patterns and adjust for various sizes (grading).
∎ Ensure patterns provide proper fit, proportion, and balance.
∎ Make necessary modifications after sample trials or fittings.
∎ Maximize fabric usage and minimize waste through strategic pattern layout.
∎ Prepare and maintain spec sheets and cutting markers.
∎ Coordinate with designers and production teams.
∎ Analyze fabric type, stretch, grainline, and texture before cutting.
∎ Lay out patterns on fabric (manually or using a marker plan) to reduce wastage.
∎ Accurately cut fabric pieces according to patterns and measurements.
∎ Handle both manual and machine cutting methods.
∎ Oversee helpers or junior cutters.
∎ Ensure consistency and accuracy across batches.
∎ Inspect fabric for defects before cutting.
∎ Ensure cut pieces meet required standards and specifications.
∎ Maintain records of fabric consumption, wastage, and cut quantities.
∎ Follow safety procedures while handling cutting equipment.
