∎ The Police & Security Forces Advisor will assist the PGE Delegate in implementing the PGE programme, including planning, execution, assessing and following up with PGE activities. S/He will maintain contact with authorities at various levels, mainly the Bangladesh Police and Security Forces and participate in meetings with key interlocutors.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contribute towards developing and consolidating the ICRC network of contacts within the Security Forces i.e. Police, RAB, Ansar and others
∎ Support the ICRC Dhaka Delegation in PGE related matters at her/his level of expertise
∎ Maintain and update the stock of different ICRC publications needed for PGE activities
∎ Represent the PGE Delegate in his/her absence
∎ Assist in drafting and implementing the PGE training programme including planning, dissemination, assessing and follow up on these programmes with the Police
∎ Assist and support the PGE Delegate in shaping a long-term Delegation PGE strategy
∎ Assist in the design and implementation of specific/targeted communication, information, dissemination and production projects
∎ Organize various professional events such as Seminars/Workshops/ Conferences etc.
∎ Contribute to the development of the annual planning for results (PFR) and issues related to Actors of Influence.
∎ Follow up and keep track of budget expenditure related to PGE activities.
∎ Maintain contact with appropriate authorities mainly in Police and Security Forces
∎ Ensure proper oral and written reporting as well as electronic filing of essential information relevant to PGE file such as Mission Reports, Minutes of Meetings etc.
∎ Where required, provide support and technical assistance to the Protection Department particularly to the Detention Team Leader.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years' experience as Senior Police/Security Forces Officer at command level
∎ Attendance at a Police or Security Forces training establishments
∎ Law Degree holders will get preference
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and team working skills; sense of responsibility; strong organizational skills; perseverance; rigor.
∎ Ability to remain flexible, and to maintain good spirits in challenging and stressful situations.
∎ Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.
