Job Context:
∎ About Terre des hommes:
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the leading Swiss INGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 30 countries with development and emergency projects. Tdh interventions are focused on the three programs: Health, Migration and Access to Justice particularly for vulnerable children. Tdh Foundation has a transversal approach towards Child Protection programming and it cuts across all the thematic areas while also has been considered as one of the key value propositions in its business model. The Child Protection expertise within Tdh Foundation aims to develop high quality, evidence-based knowledge and know-how adapted to fragile contexts, conflict zones, and development to improve the protection of children`s rights and their right to protection from all forms of violence (art 19, 34 CRC) in collaboration with and in support of the three core programs. The Tdh Foundation global strategy 2021-2024 specifies that the will have demonstrated that rights-based participation, empowerment, and active involvement of children and communities in defining and implementing responses are essential to improve child protection.
∎ Context:
∎ Tdh is working in Bangladesh since 1974, with operations in Kurigram district, Dhaka district and Cox Bazaar district. Currently, Tdh is implementing programs on Health, Access to Justice (social cohesion and conflict resolution) and Migration, integrated by the transversal expertise WASH and Child protection. Tdh interventions in Bangladesh are both in development and emergency context.
∎ Following the massive displacement of more than 800,000 people into Bangladesh since the end of August 2017, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on Health, WASH, Child Protection and Social cohesion. Alongside, Tdh is implementing the CLARISSA project in Dhaka slums aiming to build a strong evidence base and generate innovative solutions to the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) and will explore how to take these solutions to scale.
∎ Tdh in Bangladesh has started the process of integration of emergency and development approaches and aims to capitalize its institutional learning for further programme expansion and to create critical pathways for evidence-based advocacy.
∎ PURPOSE OF POST:
∎ The post holder is responsible for aiding customers by compounding and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring customer`s drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications and providing pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the rational use of drugs for safe health.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Quality assurance of drugs procurement, pharmacy and medicine store management.
∎ Forecasting of medicine and monitoring regular requirements according to the current disease trends.
∎ Capacity building of dispensers and storekeeper.
∎ Development of SOP for the management of pharmacy and medicine store.
∎ Monitor medicine dispensing as per the prescription of the Doctors
∎ Assist the patient in understanding the dosing schedule of the drug
∎ To help understand the patient about intake of frequency of drugs
∎ To assess the interaction of drugs within the prescription and suggest avoiding any interaction
∎ Instruct FDMN and Host community about the rational use of drugs
∎ Inform about the side effects of drugs while dispensing
∎ Manage day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy
∎ Assist in the compilation of weekly consumption and stock status of medicine and supplies
∎ Data entry on the EMR module of the dispenser and quality input of data
∎ Contribute to the EMR operations
∎ Assist in organizing medicine stock following first entry and first out
∎ Assist in forecasting and pricing of medicine while preparing the PSR
∎ Support medical supervisor in day-to-day work with dispenser and store management
∎ Ensure weekly and monthly program reporting
∎ Others:
∎ Accepts new responsibilities as and when those are assigned by the line supervisor.

∎ Contribute to quality EMR solution development and programme implementation.

∎ Tdh Regulations and policies:
∎ The post holder abides by all internal rules, regulations and policies.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ At least 3 years of essential working experience as a pharmacist in Humanitarian settings.
∎ At least 3 years of experience in Rohingya and Host communities in Bangladesh.
∎ Successful track record and hands-on training in the Rational Use of Drugs.
∎ Hands-on experience in operating drugs related software and digital tools.
∎ A commitment to excellence; attention to detail.
∎ Through understanding of different brand names and generic names of drugs within Bangladesh context and broad understanding about quality aspects of medicine.
∎ Training on inventory and stock management will get preference.
∎ High level of technical knowledge on drug interactions and correct dose schedule.
