Pattern Development

• Develop accurate patterns for new garment styles based on buyer’s tech pack, sketches, or samples.
• Interpret measurements, construction details, and design specifications properly.
• Ensure patterns meet both aesthetic and production requirements.

CAD Operation & Digitizing

• Use CAD software (like Gerber, Lectra, Tukatech, Optitex, etc.) for pattern making, grading, and marker planning.
• Digitize manual patterns into the CAD system and modify them as needed.
• Maintain proper storage and version control of digital files.

Sample Development & Fit Correction

• Develop fit samples, PP samples, and size sets according to buyer instructions.
• Conduct fit trials on mannequins or live models and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure pattern accuracy for comfort, balance, and correct shape.

Marker Making & Fabric Consumption

• Prepare efficient markers to minimize fabric wastage and optimize fabric utilization.
• Calculate fabric consumption for costing and production planning.
• Ensure marker layout follows fabric grainline and print direction.

Size Grading

• Grade patterns for different sizes while maintaining proper proportion and fit.
• Verify size specifications and tolerance levels as per buyer requirements.

Technical Support to Production

• Support cutting and sewing departments with pattern and construction details.
• Solve technical issues related to pattern, fit, or garment assembly.
• Ensure all patterns are production-friendly and approved before bulk cutting.

Coordination with Teams

• Work closely with merchandising, sampling, and quality teams for product development.
• Communicate any technical changes or updates to all relevant departments.

Record Keeping & Documentation

• Maintain proper records of all approved patterns, markers, and sample history.
• Update and file pattern revisions, approvals, and version numbers systematically.

Continuous Improvement & R&D

• Develop innovative pattern techniques to improve fit and reduce production time.
• Stay updated on CAD technology, pattern trends, and garment construction methods.

Training & Supervision

• Train junior pattern makers or CAD operators in software use and pattern techniques.
• Supervise pattern room activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
