Job Context:
∎ Chemonics International, Inc., a U.S.-based international development consulting firm, is seeking qualified candidates for multiple positions for the five-year USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Horticulture, Fruits, and Non-Food Crops Activity. The activity supports the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) food security objective by increasing the private sector`s capacity to increase productivity and production of quality horticulture, fruits, and non-food crops that meet international standards. The activity will also strengthen the value chain, linking Bangladeshi smallholder commercial farmers, and other value chain actors towards increasing the efficiency of the market system to meet domestic and international market demands. The result will be a more competent private sector, and efficient market systems that will increase farmers` income and improve the food security of Bangladesh.
∎ Employment Status: Full-time employee with benefits
∎ Job Location: Dhaka, or other cities in Bangladesh
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years of experience working in a private sector development program, preferably with a specific focus on agriculture market systems and value chains, and/or private sector engagement and development. Experience with USAID Feed the Future program a plus.
∎ Prior experience providing targeted assistance to facilitate improved agricultural value chain competitiveness.
∎ Relevant experience in market systems projects and managing sub-contractual relationships and/or grant agreements.
∎ Demonstrated understanding of the Bangladeshi and/or regional context.
∎ Demonstrated ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
∎ Excellent networking, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
∎ Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
∎ Proficiency in English required, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
