Educational Requirements:
∎ 4 years nursing diploma/graduation from any government nursing training institute or nursing college.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure preoperative checks are made on accepting the patient into the OT .and prior to the administration of any anesthetics or surgical procedures.
∎ Ensure that surgical policies and procedures are adhered to in relation to operations and correct procedures are followed in the checking of swabs, instruments, needles, etc.
∎ Ensure that correct aseptic techniques are used at all times.
∎ Monitor fluid electrolyte balance Intravenous canalization, administering intravenous fluid, monitoring and maintaining the adequate record of intake and output.
∎ Ability to work with stress.
∎ Observe and monitor patients in the recovery room and provide post-operative care in the surgical ward, including being on call.
∎ Ability to tolerate in long-standing OT
∎ Administer drugs- oral, sublingual, intravenous, intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular.
∎ Collect blood samples for blood investigation and monitoring blood glucose values with the use of a glucometer
∎ Emergency patient care and assisting obstetric surgeon during Caesarean section, D&C, etc.
∎ Correctly follow routine maintenance schedules and sterilization procedures for equipment.
∎ Administer oxygen when required and perform suction during procedures.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ 2 Years’ experience in NGOs and Clinics / Hospitals will be treated as an additional Qualification.
∎ 2 years’ experience as an OT staff nurse working in Operation Theater in any government-recognized hospital.
