Daily Activities

  • Monitor Oracle database health and availability.

  • Verify Worker Service execution and synchronization status.

  • Monitor local server-to-Central Server transaction synchronization.

  • Review application logs, Windows Event Logs, Oracle alert logs, listener logs, and trace files.

  • Verify RMAN backup completion and recovery readiness.

  • Investigate synchronization failures, blocking sessions, and long-running SQL.Resolve Oracle database and Worker Service production issues.

  • Monitor database performance and storage utilization.

  • Deploy updated Worker Service versions and configuration changes.

  • Generate database, synchronization, and operational performance reports.



Responsibilities & Context:

Oracle Database Administration

  • Install, configure, and administer Oracle Database 19c environments.

  • Create and configure databases using Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA).

  • Configure Oracle Net Services (Listener and TNS) for secure database connectivity.

  • Manage database users, roles, profiles, tablespaces, and storage allocation.

  • Perform database upgrades, migrations, and version maintenance.

C# Worker Service Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain C# (.NET Worker Service) applications for automated data synchronization between local server databases and the Central Server.

  • Develop background services to process and transfer transaction data reliably and efficiently.

  • Implement scheduled and continuous synchronization using Worker Services.

  • Build multithreaded and asynchronous processing using async/await.

  • Integrate Oracle Database using Oracle Managed Data Access (ODP.NET).

  • Develop REST API and database integrations for data exchange.

  • Implement retry mechanisms, exception handling, logging, and automatic recovery for failed synchronization tasks.

  • Optimize Worker Service performance to support high-volume transaction processing.

  • Deploy and manage Worker Services as Windows Services.

  • Configure application settings, logging, and environment-specific configurations.

TCMS Plaza to Central Server Data Synchronization

  • Develop, configure, and maintain database synchronization services between Local server databases and the Central Server.

  • Monitor real-time and scheduled synchronization jobs.

  • Validate synchronized transaction data for accuracy and consistency.

  • Troubleshoot synchronization failures, connectivity issues, and data mismatches.

  • Ensure secure and uninterrupted communication between remote databases and the central database.

  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and network teams to maintain reliable synchronization.

  • Generate synchronization status reports and monitor service health.

Database Monitoring and Performance

  • Monitor Oracle database availability, health, and performance.

  • Analyze AWR, ADDM, ASH, and SQL Monitor reports.

  • Tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and execution plans.

  • Monitor blocking sessions, wait events, long-running SQL, and resource utilization.

  • Perform capacity planning and monitor tablespace growth.

Backup and Recovery

  • Configure and maintain RMAN backup strategies.

  • Perform full, incremental, and archived log backups.

  • Execute database recovery and point-in-time recovery.

  • Test backup restoration and disaster recovery procedures regularly.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery

  • Configure and administer Oracle Data Guard environments.

  • Support Oracle RAC administration where applicable.

  • Perform switchover, failover, and Flashback Database operations.

  • Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.

Database Security

  • Manage database users, roles, and privileges.

  • Implement auditing and password policies.

  • Apply Oracle Release Updates (RU), Critical Patch Updates (CPU), and one-off patches.

  • Implement Oracle security best practices and data protection measures.

Patch Management

  • Apply Oracle patches using OPatch and OPatchAuto.

  • Validate database functionality after patch installation.

  • Maintain patch history and change documentation.

Automation

  • Develop Shell Scripts and PowerShell scripts for administration tasks.

  • Automate RMAN backup verification, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Schedule maintenance using Oracle Scheduler, Windows Task Scheduler, and Cron (Linux).

Documentation

  • Prepare database architecture and configuration documentation.

  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Document Worker Service architecture, deployment, synchronization workflows, backup procedures, and disaster recovery processes.

Support and Maintenance

  • Provide 24×7 production database and application support.

  • Monitor Worker Service execution and synchronization status.

  • Troubleshoot production issues related to Oracle databases and Worker Services.

  • Support application deployments and database changes.

  • Coordinate with developers, DevOps, infrastructure, and network teams.

Resolve incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
