Job Context:
∎ Social Assistance and Rehabilitation for the Physically Vulnerable (SARPV) is a non- government, non-political, Bangladeshi organization under its Health & Nutrition program providing lifesaving health & nutrition support to the local Bangladeshi & Rohingya people of Cox`s Bazar.
∎ Employment Status: Contractual till October`2023 (Renewable based on fund availability).
∎ Job Location: Cox`s Bazar District.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Program Cycle Management:
∎ Providing oversight and supervision for SARPV's nutrition interventions in Cox's Bazar, focusing on the Rohingya camp and host communities.
∎ Offering technical strategic guidance for nutrition programming, including adapting the emergency response strategy accordingly.
∎ Developing concept notes, proposals, and budgets for new grants related to nutrition for the camp and host communities, in alignment with the response strategy.
∎ Coordinating the initiation of nutrition projects across various departments within SARPV, such as program management, monitoring and evaluation, logistics, human resources, finance, and government liaison, ensuring timely project commencement.
∎ Assisting the HR department in recruiting qualified staff and supporting teams to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of projects.
∎ Supporting nutrition program managers in overseeing their teams in accordance with HR policies, including managing leave and performance.
∎ Taking a leadership role in developing monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) plans for nutrition projects in collaboration with project coordinators and the MEAL team, in line with donor agreements, etc.
∎ Capacity Building:
∎ Organizing and adapting nutrition-related training programs, materials, and techniques specific to the context.
∎ Ensuring staff members receive appropriate training and development for their respective roles. This includes analysing their training needs, arranging training sessions or coaching, delivering training, and coordinating knowledge-sharing experiences. The emphasis is on areas such as CMAM (Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition), IYCF-E (Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies), and CMAMI (Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition in Infants).
∎ Coordination and Advocacy:
∎ Liaising with government liaison team in SARPV, at both Cox's Bazar and Dhaka level, for timely project implementation permissions by district and camp level authorities.
∎ Establishing SARPV as a key actor in the Cox's Bazar nutrition sector, contributing to the sector strategy and the broader humanitarian response in Cox's Bazar
∎ Coordinate and develop linkages with other sector staff in including, nutrition and health ensure internal coordination allowing maximum positive impact.
∎ Other Responsibilities:
∎ Ensuring own and team adherence to SARPV's code of conduct, and associated policies
∎ Support Nutrition project staff so that they comply with all relevant organizational Code of Conduct and associated policies and procedures to ensure Safeguarding of Programme participants
∎ Supporting the Director-Nutrition and the Security Focal Group of Cox's Bazar to ensure own and team's sensitivity to security threats and adherence to security protocols.
∎ Work closely with SARPV Regional Office and Head Office, Bangladesh to establish synergy and cross learning with other international teams.
∎ Any other duties assigned by Director-Nutrition.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 4 years-experience in nutrition field focusing on CMAM, IYCF and other nutrition sensitive programmes
∎ Demonstrated leadership and previous work experience with emergency response programming
∎ Strong ability to manage and deal with diverse stakeholders and have ability to lead and manage a diverse program team
∎ Demonstrated strong writing and oral presentation skills
∎ Knowledge and experience in the most common assessment and survey methodologies such as SMART, SQEAC and related software
∎ Experience in working with and capacity building of national staff and partner organizations
∎ Good representational skills and able to undertake advocacy at a high level to further the proven experience in resource planning
∎ Knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards, Sphere and CHS Standards and other international humanitarian guidelines and protocols
∎ Experience working in the Rohingya Emergency response
∎ Ability to work under pressure to pursue multiple tasks simultaneously to successful conclusions
∎ Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements:
∎ Strong leadership and people management
∎ Strong flexibility is required in terms of mobility and working hour
Salary: Tk. 160000 (Monthly)
