Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
For a Diploma in Computer Technology need at least 2 years of professional experience.
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in IT support, network administration, or system maintenance.
Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN configuration and maintenance.
Familiarity with Windows OS, hardware troubleshooting, and common software applications.
Experience with Zoom/MS Teams setup and support will be an advantage.
Self-motivated and organized.
Able to work quickly and well under pressure, both independently and as a team member, juggling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.

Job Context: BLAST is looking for an IT Assistant for Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. The project aims the IT Assistant will play a critical role in engaging with IT support and infrastructure maintenance, alignment with organizational goals, online meeting setup and support, system management for efficiency, local area network (LAN) configuration and installation, data security and backup systems, security measures for IT assets, troubleshooting and resolution, technical support for IT procurement, network functionality and system monitoring, opportunities for technological improvement, and website maintenance and support.
Job Responsibilities:
IT Support and Infrastructure Maintenance: Provide crucial IT support for the daily operations of the organization's network, server infrastructure, and all related IT systems. Ensure that all systems are functioning optimally and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Alignment with Organizational Goals: Work closely with the organization's leadership to align the IT infrastructure with both current and future needs of BLAST. Ensure that the IT strategy supports the goals of the organization in a sustainable and scalable way.
Online Meeting Setup and Support: Take responsibility for setting up and maintaining online meetings via Zoom or MS Teams applications, ensuring that all meetings run smoothly, with appropriate technical support provided for both internal and external participants. Ensure proper configurations, such as screen sharing and participant management, and translation or recording facilities, are in place for effective communication.
System Management for Efficiency: Efficiently manage the organization's IT and computer systems to enhance overall productivity and operational efficiency. This includes ensuring all systems are maintained, updated, and secured in line with industry best practices.
Local Area Network (LAN) Configuration and Installation: Configure and install Windows-based local area networks, ensuring that the network is secure, reliable, and facilitates smooth communication and collaboration among staff members.
Data Security and Backup Systems: Ensure the security of all organizational data, network access, and backup systems to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, loss, or corruption. Implement the latest security protocols and maintain backups for disaster recovery.
Security Measures for IT Assets: Implement and maintain strong security measures for all IT equipment and digital assets to prevent unauthorized access or breaches. Ensure compliance with BLAST's established IT and data protection standards and protocols.
Troubleshooting and Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues related to hardware, software, local area networks (LAN), and printing systems swiftly and efficiently, minimizing disruptions to daily operations and ensuring optimal system performance.
Technical Support for IT Procurement: Provide technical expertise in the procurement of IT equipment and services. Support the process of evaluating, selecting, and acquiring necessary technologies that meet the operational needs of the organization. Ensure all new technology acquisitions integrate smoothly into the existing infrastructure.
Network Functionality and System Monitoring: Oversee and monitor the functionality of network infrastructure and systems to ensure they support the organization's mission and objectives effectively, and proactively identify potential areas for improvement or necessary upgrades to ensure high availability and performance.
Opportunities for Technological Improvement: Continuously assess the technological landscape within BLAST and proactively identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and cost-effectiveness, and recommend and implement solutions to enhance the organization's technological capabilities.
Website Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the BLAST website and other social media handles, ensuring, in coordination with the Communications Department, that it is up-to-date with accurate programme details, news, events, and other relevant information. Address technical issues related to the website's functionality, security, and user experience.
Any Other Tasks: In addition to the core responsibilities outlined in the job description, the Sr. Officer-IT and MIS may be required to perform other tasks as necessary to support the organization's overall objectives and operations.
