Experience:
Master's degree in Women and Gender Studies, or related field. Any additional certificate, training or degree in Development Studies, Disaster Management, Climate Change, and Social Sciences will be an added value to this position.
3–5 years of experience in gender equality, disability and social inclusion, preferably in DRR, climate change, humanitarian response, or development sectors.
Knowledge in national and relevant laws and policies such as CESAW, international human rights framework.
Experience of coordination, participatory facilitation, report writing, in Bengali and English
Experience of working with government ministries and systems in Bangladesh.
Familiarity with anticipatory action, early warning systems, or disaster risk financing is a strong asset.
Knowledge of current humanitarian and development discourses and challenges in Bangladesh and beyond.
Strong understanding of gender equality, social inclusion, and right –based approaches, preferably in disaster management frameworks and national DRR policies.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills for advocacy purposes.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
Strategic and analytical thinking.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Commitment to team-work, accountability, and community-centered approaches.
Ability to work independently with minimum support.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Competence in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.
Fluency in Bangla and English
OBJECTIVE 1: To lead gender equality and inclusion in anticipatory action in the PROTHISTHAA Project (40%)
Lead implementation of gender equality and inclusion across all interventions of PROTHISTHA in locations where ACF and its partners work.
Adhere to ACFs relevant policies and standards in PROTHISTHAA project
Identify policy gaps, opportunities, and system barriers related to GESI in anticipatory action, early warning, and disaster risk financing.
Ensure that ACF and its partners are able to meet ECHO gender, age, disability and other social inclusion compliances in the project.
Lead utilizing relevant GESI tools and principals in the project planning and implementation.
Conduct gender and inclusion and social analysis in the project.
Ensure that project activities meet the GESI standards as per ACF and donor guidelines.
Support project team in implementation of relevant activities as per project plan and guideline
Work with implementing partners in ensuring implementation of activities relevant to GESI.
Assist in preparing reports and updates as per requirement of ACF and Consortium Secretariat.
Support to design and implementation of meetings, workshops, campaign and other events to mainstream GESI in the key government policies, frameworks, and operational mechanisms.
Facilitate meetings, workshops, campaign and other events at national and project locations to promote GESI
OBJECTIVE 2: Capacity building of project team and partners on gender equality and inclusion (20%)
Provide required training to program staff, volunteers, stakeholders on Gender Equality and Inclusion.
Build capacity of partner organization on mainstreaming Gender Equality and Inclusion.
Develop and implement required guidelines, protocols for project team to ensure gender equality, disability, age inclusion and other social inclusion in the project.
OBJECTIVE 3: Support research / studies/ assessment and surveys under PROTHISTHA(10%)
Support research / studies/ assessment and surveys as well as dissemination of findings under PROTHISTHA project to generate evidence of inclusion and gender equality.
Take lead in incorporation of findings of the research reports in the relevant policies and relevant systems that support anticipatory actions.
Support collecting, drafting and editing best practices, case stories related to GESI and dissemination to internal and external stakeholders.
OBJECTIVE 4 : Documentation and evidence generation (10%)
Prepare project reports related to GESI and assist the team in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual reports and final project completion reports.
Support drafting of concept notes, case studies and other knowledge products.
Support the technical teams to incorporate GESI in scientific data, risk modelling, and impact studies.
Support development of high-quality policy briefs, position papers, guidance notes, talking points, and donor briefing documents.
Ensure timely dissemination of lessons learned to inform policy and system reforms.
OBJECTIVE 5 : Communication, coordination and networking (10%)
Represent the project in national and humanitarian coordination meetings.
Build strong partnerships with UN agencies, INGOs, research groups, and local NGOs working on inclusive Anticipatory Action and DRR.
Support joint advocacy by helping create common messages and shared influence strategies.
Maintain effective communication and networking with stakeholders across different sectors.
OBJECTIVE 6 : Uphold organization policies and cross cutting issues(10%)
Adhere all organization policies such as gender policy, safe guarding policies, data protection policy, code and conduct, do no harm principles.
Ensure accountability to project beneficiaries and affected population
Ensure team building principles with the project team as well as partners project team
Uphold localization principle through with local partners and stakeholder
Uphold partnership principles while working with local partners
Collaborate with the FSL&DRR team, field team and other program and support team to enhance data flow and ACF internal system and reporting mechanism.
Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender, age, disability, religion, ethnicity etc
Objective 7: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity
Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary
Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries
Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities
Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committee;
Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
