∎ Networking Adviser develops a network of contacts aimed at facilitating the operations of the ICRC in the area of competence. He/she contributes to increase awareness and acceptance of the ICRC among stakeholders both in Dhaka and in the field level.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Analyses, maps & manages stakeholders in developing & achieving ICRC networking strategy & acceptance of ICRC activities
∎ Assists in analysis & understanding of religious environment on country, regional and global level.
∎ Environment scanning, context and security analysis
∎ Interpretation and translation from English to national language and vice versa
∎ Enhances the ICRC understanding of religious environment on country, regional and global level
∎ Develops a broad network of contacts and build relationship with authorities, community leaders, civil society representatives and religious circles
∎ Builds awareness and acceptance about the ICRC among with interlocutors and stakeholders
∎ Closely monitors perceptions of religious circles of the ICRC and othe Movement components
∎ Engages proactively with ICRC colleagues from different departments and facilitates ICRC programs and activities thanks to network of contacts
∎ Tailors and supports the organisation of events for interlocutors and stakeholders
∎ Participates to field trips, to internal and external meetings, and reports internally orally and by writing
∎ Monitors and shares relevant information and analysis on the humanitarian, environment socio-economic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC
∎ Facilitates contacts between the ICRC and selected influential interlocutors
∎ Inquiries, studies and reports on specific questions of interest for the ICRC
∎ Participates to security monitoring and analysis
∎ Relates with networking and security team based in the delegation
∎ Registers data and shares information related to networking, respecting confidentiality and using relevant software and database
∎ Interprets or translates accurately from English to National language and vice versa as required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge of Islamic Law an asset
∎ Fluent in written and spoken Bengali and English. Knowledge of Urdu & Arabic an asset
∎ Familiarity with religious and civil society organisations in Bangladesh
∎ Computer proficiency
∎ University degree
∎ Excellent communication and presentation skills
∎ Professional requirements:
∎ 5 years of working experience in a similar function
∎ Good exposure to the Islamic media in Bangladesh an asset
∎ Previous experience in network building with relevant groups will be considered as an added advantage
∎ Excellent analytical and writing skills
∎ Capacity to analyse the political and social environment
∎ Previous experience in environment mapping & identification of new humanitarian issues will be considered as an added advantage
∎ Personal qualities for the position:
