Job Context:
∎ The Midwife supervisor is responsible for the oversight, mentorship, and implementation of SRH, in particular: Basic Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (BEmONC), Antenatal Care and Postnatal Care, Counselling and provision of Family Planning, Syndromic management of STI, Post Abortion Care and Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors.
∎ Job Location: Refugee Camp, Ukhiya/Teknaf, Cox`s Bazar
∎ Contract Length: Till 31 December 2023 (with possibility of extension)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Development:
∎ Supervise and provide technical support and guidance to midwives to implement SRH services from WFS/WGSS
∎ Provide support and mentorship to WFS/WGSS midwives providing on-the-job training where needed
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions
∎ Clinical Care:
∎ Supervise midwives at WFS/WGSSS and plan and implement SRH activities such as Family Planning, Syndromic management of Sexually transmitted Infections, Menstrual Regulation, Clinical management of sexual assault and Health education working closely with SRH and GBV team to access “hard to reach? and vulnerable beneficiaries to increase SRH service utilization in the WFSs and WGSSs
∎ Provide technical oversight, leadership, guidance and training to field-based Midwives in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health.
∎ Ensure proper SRH data recording in the IRC supported WFSs, WGSSs, support the compilation of data and generation of quality SRH reports on a regular and timely manner to ensure all required donor reports are completed on time and to a high standard.
∎ Work closely with the Clinical mentor/Senior Managers for implementing strategies to increase Family Planning (FP) uptake with a special focus on community awareness raising and ensuring the availability of FP supplies in IRC supported WFSs, WGSSs
∎ With the support of Clinical mentor/Senior Managers implement trainings to build capacity on SRH services for IRC WFSs, WGSSs staffs.
∎ Provide direct SRH services , working closely with the other midwives to ensure the delivery of high quality SRH services at WFSs/WGSSs
∎ Provide service on syndromic management of STI in collaboration with Clinical SRH mentor
∎ Receive survivors, counsel and Clinical Care Support to survivors with technical advice, and provides services in line with the MoH and/ or international best practice guidelines
∎ Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures
∎ Ensure accurate recording of information in the WFSs/WGSSs registers, and timely completion of reports
∎ Ensure WFSs/WGSSs areas are appropriately stocked with essential equipment and supplies
∎ Ensure patient confidentiality is respected, and that all consultations are conducted in a dignified and respectful manner.
∎ Project Management:
∎ Implement outreach activities with the rest of the team to access “hard to reach? and vulnerable beneficiaries to increase service utilization
∎ Work with and support community volunteers to provide health promotion, community mobilization and awareness raising
∎ Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of medical drugs and supplies
∎ Work with relevant staff to ensure prompt requesting of medical drugs and supplies.
∎ Coordination & Representation:
∎ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities, local government agencies and other implementing partners
∎ Hold meetings with local communities and represent the program in local stakeholder meetings.
∎ Monitoring & Reporting:
∎ Ensure all patient consultations are documented and patient records completed.
∎ Ensure Submission of daily reports in a timely manner.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 18 to 60 years
∎ At least 3 years working experience
∎ Previously working with any local or International NGO
∎ Competent on performing IUD, MR, MVA, normal vaginal delivery, CMR
∎ Cervical cancer counselling, screening and fistula
∎ Management of HMS, HBB
∎ KOBO reporting
∎ Proficiency in Bangla and Rohingya language
∎ Good hold in English language will be an added value
