Job Context:
∎ The Midwife is a member of the IRC Health Team and will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the IRC`s Primary healthcare activities, Sexual & Reproductive services in the Rohingya Refugee Camp. She will ensure the delivery of high quality Reproductive Health activities including the MISP (Minimum Initial Service Package for RH in Crisis Situations). She will work to ensure the delivery of family planning, maternal and neonatal care, case management of sexually transmitted diseases and the clinical management of sexual assault survivors and assist mother to delivery with referral to appropriate case management facilities.
∎ The Midwife is responsible for the oversight and implementation of Maternal and Neonatal Care, in particular:
∎ Deliveries, Antenatal Care and Postnatal Care
∎ Counselling and provision of Family Planning
∎ Post Abortion Care
∎ Menstrual Regulation
∎ Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors
∎ Ensure timely and accurate recording of patient information and consultations in relevant patient registers, and facilitate the timely submission of require health reports

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Clinical Care:
∎ Provide direct SRH care, working closely with the clinical staff to ensure the delivery of high quality comprehensive emergency and primary healthcare services
∎ Triage, screening and assessment of SRH patients
∎ Performs basic delivery care, perform all components of BEmONC including assisted deliveries, manual placenta removal, manual vacuum aspirations and neonatal resuscitation
∎ Performs any needed neonatal and obstetric resuscitation activity
∎ Ensures timely supported referrals (after stabilization) to the nearest Emergency Obstetric Care center
∎ Performs and promotes safe post-abortion and Menstrual Regulation care
∎ Manage STI cases as per appropriate guidelines (MoH/WHO) and consult medical doctor in case of doubt
∎ Provide clinical care for survivors of sexual assault in line with the MoH and/or international best practice guidelines and refers survivors for psychosocial support services
∎ Provides antenatal and postnatal care in line with relevant standards and protocols
∎ Delivery of hygiene promotion, health education and patient/care giver counselling
∎ Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures
∎ Ensure accurate recording of information in the clinic registers, and timely completion of summary reports
∎ Ensure wards/clinic areas are appropriately stocked with essential equipment and supplies
∎ Ensure patient confidentiality is respected, and that all consultations are conducted in a dignified and respectful manner
∎ Staff Supervision & Development:
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions
∎ Provide support and mentorship to other clinic staff, providing on-the-job training where needed
∎ Project Management:
∎ Implement outreach activities with the rest of the team to access "Hard to reach? and vulnerable beneficiaries to increase service utilization
∎ Work with and support community volunteers to provide health promotion, community mobilization and awareness raising
∎ Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of drugs and supplies
∎ Work with relevant staff to ensure prompt requesting of drugs and supplies
∎ Coordination & Representation:
∎ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities and other implementing partners
∎ Monitoring & Reporting:
∎ Ensure all patient consultations are documented and patient records completed
∎ Submit daily reports in a timely manner
∎ Other Duties:
∎ Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of the team; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/improve the security environment for the facility team
∎ Preform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of clinical midwifery experience
∎ Previous experience and training in sexual gender based violence and clinical care for sexual assault survivors (desirable)
∎ Ability to lead, train, supervise and facilitate other nursing staff and community health workers in their respective tasks
∎ Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local health representatives
∎ Skills to provide sensitive and appropriate medical counselling
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Required to be team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment, displaying patience, compassion and diplomacy
∎ Required to be able to and willing to assist with carrying patients on stretchers and carrying equipment
∎ Ability to be innovative, flexible, adaptive, and willingness to work in potentially dangerous and stressful environments
∎ Ability to live in challenging conditions and ability to work under difficult, high pressure situations
Salary: Tk. 47250 (Monthly)
