∎ Knowledge of child protection systems in Bangladesh/ Excellent facilitation skills.
∎ Fluent in Chittagong dialect.

∎ Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
∎ Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and respond to crises effectively.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Tdh's Child Protection (CP) program consists of three main components: MHPSS to children, adolescents and caregivers; Case Management, including Alternative Care and Caring for Child Survivors, and Support to Community-based CP mechanisms. To protect and promote the psychosocial wellbeing of adolescents (16+) and  adults through Family Strengthening approaches implemented at individual, family and community levels. Tdh has adopted focused non-specialized MHPSS services through Problem Management+ (PM+) intervention developed by WHO and Effective Parenting sessions for parents/caregivers. Theses interventions strategies applicable for individual and group adolescents and adults who are having different psychosocial and adjustment issues due to migration.

∎ The project is to protect and promote the psychosocial wellbeing of adolescent boys and girls and young men and women through community-based MHPSS approaches implemented at individual, family and community levels between host and refugee community population.

∎ General Description of the Role:
∎ Under the technical guidance of the MH Technical Specialist, and direct supervised by Mental Health Officer, Mental Health Assistant provides structured, age, gender and needs-appropriate individual non-specialized MHPSS services through Problem Management Plus (PM+) intervention to adolescents (16+) and adults/caregivers, and focused group MHPSS through Effective Parenting Curriculum to the parents/caregivers.
