Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Medical Assistant/ MATS from an accredited academic institution or hospital; recognized & registered by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC)

Job Context:
∎ The MA is a member of the IRC health team and will be responsible for supporting the health care services to the suspected & confirmed cases of COVID-19 patient isolated at home. (S)He will ensure the delivery of high quality emergency and primary healthcare activities to the local catchment population.
∎ Under the supervision of the Medical Doctor and in-conjunction with other healthcare staff, the MA will be responsible for the delivery of health care services, and in particular:
∎ Apply knowledge and skills to give treatment of emergency and primary healthcare problems during home visit
∎ Ensuring appropriate patient triage and referral as needed.
∎ Provide health promotion and counselling to patients and caregivers.
∎ Ensure emergency and primary healthcare services are implemented in conformity with relevant Ministry of health or international guidelines.
∎ Ensure timely and accurate recording of patient information and consultations in relevant patient registers and facilitate the timely submission of require health reports.
∎ Contract Length: 3 Months
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Clinical Care:
∎ Work with the operation of COVID-19 isolation and treatment center with ensure of proper infection prevention procedure is maintained
∎ Render supportive care on clinical management of patients, including diagnosis, isolation, treatment, care and referral
∎ Implement infection prevention and control measures at COVID-19 isolation and treatment center including triage, patient flow, standard precautions, PPE and waste management in line with the guidance of WHO, IEDCR & National guidelines
∎ Monitor waste management
∎ Support and train the network of community health workers on home-based care, referral and contact tracing of COVID-19 cases
∎ Write medical prescriptions are properly written with history and present conditions
∎ Ensure proper drugs provision and the communicate instructions with the patients so they can understand treatment regimen
∎ Ensure clinical set up are well organized and clean
∎ Ensure that the medicines are kept in the store in a proper way having proper ventilation
∎ Maintain confidentiality and security of client information at all times
∎ Ensure the proper application of all monitoring tools use for monitoring clinical activities
∎ Ensure confidentiality is maintained for all clients
∎ Monitor triage, early recognition and source control
∎ Supervise instrument processing
∎ Staff Supervision & Development:
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and provide guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
∎ Provide nursing/medical support and mentorship to other staff, providing on-the-job training where needed.
∎ Project Management:
∎ Ensure regular inventory and consumption tracking of medical drugs and supplies
∎ Work with relevant staff to ensure prompt requesting of medical drugs and supplies
∎ Coordination & Representation:
∎ Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local communities, local government agencies and other implementing partners
∎ Monitoring & Reporting:
∎ Ensure all patient consultations are documented and patient records completed
∎ Submit daily reports in a timely manner
∎ Other Duties:
∎ Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 1 year of clinical MA experience in emergency and primary healthcare
∎ Ability to lead, train, supervise and facilitate other medical staff and community health workers in their respective tasks
∎ Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment
∎ Skills to provide sensitive and appropriate medical counselling
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Ability to be flexible, adaptive, and willingness to work in challenging situations
∎ Ability to live in challenging conditions and ability to work under difficult, high pressure situations.
∎ Proficiency in local language
Salary: Tk. 50000 (Monthly)
