Job Context: We are country leading reputed group of Companies. It has Eighteen sister of concerns having proven record of business experience in country & abroad for four decades looking Marine Surveyor & Chartering for this Organization. The Marine Surveyor & Chartering will lead company’s Marine Survey & Chartering.

Job Responsibilities:

Marine Surveying & Inspection Duties:

Vessel Condition Surveys: Conducting inspections of ships, including hulls, machinery, and equipment, to determine their overall condition, especially before, during, or after a charter period (on-hire/off-hire).

Safety & Compliance Audits: Ensuring vessels meet international regulations (IMO, SOLAS), classification society rules, and Flag State requirements.

Cargo Inspection: Verifying the loading, securing, and unloading of cargo to ensure safety and prevent damage, including draft surveys to determine the weight of cargo.

Damage Assessment: Investigating maritime incidents (collisions, groundings, machinery failures) to determine the cause, extent of damage, and estimated repair costs for insurance claims.

Pre-purchase Surveys (C&V): Conducting "Condition and Valuation" surveys to inform buyers, lenders, and insurers about a vessel's market value and condition.

Technical Reporting: Writing detailed, independent reports in English to document findings and provide recommendations to stakeholders.

 

Chartering & Operational Responsibilities:

Vessel Suitability Assessment: Reviewing a vessel's technical specifications to ensure it is fit to carry a specific type and quantity of cargo for a, say, voyage charter.

On-Hire/Off-Hire Surveys: Checking the condition of the vessel and fuel (bunkers) at the beginning and end of a charter party agreement to identify any changes or damages.

Bunker Surveys: Measuring fuel on board to verify quantities during the handover between owners and charterers.

Hold Condition Survey: Inspecting cargo holds to ensure they are clean, dry, and suitable for loading cargo, preventing contamination or cargo damage claims.

Supervision of Loading/Discharging: Monitoring the cargo operations to ensure compliance with the stowage plan and lashing requirements.
