Responsibilities & Context:

Fakir Knitwears Ltd., one of Bangladesh's leading knitwear and garment manufacturing companies, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional for the position of Manager, Inventory (Gray Fabric) at its Narayanganj facility. The incumbent will be responsible for the complete management of a large-scale Gray Fabric Inventory/Store with a handling capacity of up to 1,000 metric tons, covering receiving, storage, issuance, stock reconciliation, and reporting for all knit gray fabric received from the knitting section and/or external sources. The role also requires establishing and maintaining a modern, RFID-based fabric tracking system to ensure real-time visibility, accuracy, and control over such a high-volume inventory. This is a critical operational role that ensures accurate fabric tracking, minimal wastage, and uninterrupted fabric supply to the dyeing and production sections.

  • Manage end-to-end Gray Fabric Inventory operations at a scale of up to 1,000 metric tons, including receiving, inspection, storage, issuance, and stock reconciliation for all incoming gray fabric.

  • Implement, operate, and maintain a modern RFID-based fabric tracking system for roll-level identification, real-time stock visibility, and automated location control within the store.

  • Ensure accurate recording of gray fabric receipt from the Knitting section (in-house) and from sub-contract/external knitting sources, including roll-wise weight, quality grade, RFID tag assignment, and lot details.

  • Maintain systematic and updated stock records (ERP plus RFID system) for gray fabric, including fabric type, GSM, width, color, lot number, rack/location, and supplier/knitting source.

  • Coordinate with the Knitting, Dyeing, and Planning departments to ensure timely issuance of gray fabric as per production plan and order priority.

  • Conduct regular RFID-assisted physical stock counts and reconcile with system/book stock; investigate and report any discrepancies immediately.

  • Monitor fabric aging and ensure FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practice is strictly followed to avoid long-standing/obsolete stock, supported by RFID-based date and location tracking.

  • Design and maintain an efficient rack/zone layout for a 1,000-ton capacity store to enable fast RFID scanning, retrieval, and space optimization.

  • Ensure proper storage conditions (stacking, labeling, roll protection) to prevent fabric damage, contamination, or quality degradation.

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly Gray Fabric Stock Reports, receiving reports, and issuance reports to management, supported by RFID system data.

  • Coordinate with the Quality department for gray fabric quality inspection (GSM, shrinkage, defects) before acceptance into inventory.

  • Track and report fabric shortages, excess stock, and wastage; recommend corrective measures to minimize losses.

  • Liaise with Commercial/Sourcing teams regarding external gray fabric procurement status and expected delivery schedules.

  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audit purposes, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), issue vouchers, RFID scan logs, and stock ledgers.

  • Support internal and external (buyer/compliance) audits related to fabric inventory, ensuring full traceability of stock movement through the RFID system.

  • Supervise and manage store staff (storekeepers, helpers, RFID system operators), including work allocation, attendance, and performance monitoring.

  • Maintain the fabric store in an organized, clean, and safe condition as per company and buyer compliance standards.
