Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contribute to implement UCEP Bangladesh's values, vision, mission and goals, uphold the best interest of the organization at all times and ensure security and safeguard of life, property and dignity of UCEP Bangladesh, its entities, its beneficiaries and staff.
∎ Ensure all relevant policies and guidelines of UCEP Bangladesh are adhered to.
∎ Develop and manage a portfolio of social enterprises including securing new funding/ revenue streams and developing/refining concepts.
∎ Develop and apply enterprise development best practices and approaches into new UCEP programming and evaluate and promote cross linkage opportunities for social enterprise development.
∎ Provide strategic guidance and management oversight to the current teams, enterprises, projects and initiatives grouped in the Social Enterprise Development portfolio.
∎ Identify, develop and roll out business models those support UCEP's social enterprise goals.
∎ Develop, perform and manage business plan activities for the social enterprises, including monthly, quarterly and annual planning.
∎ Identify value added services and value addition activities that creates uniqueness of UCEP social enterprises in the marketplace.
∎ Support in designing, developing and executing new ideas (enterprise, products, projects etc.), market testing and piloting along with UCEP Programme and Regional Teams.
∎ Design and facilitate outreach and marketing campaigns including customer cultivation, social media and communications strategy, service visibility and partnerships.
∎ Identify and develop new products and experiences in collaboration with UCEP Programme Management Team and successfully implement them.
∎ Plan and implement brand building, advertising and promotional strategy and activities for the social enterprises to bring economic and social impacts, in collaboration with UCEP Branding, Marketing & Partnership Team.
∎ Identify funding opportunities for UCEP social enterprises through various calls for proposals, competitions and strategic partnerships.
∎ Analyze and prepare business cases, business plan, concept notes and proposal development and submission for particular social enterprise.
∎ Ensure strict governance and rigorous compliance practices as per country law.
∎ Practice and promote concepts of value for money, cost effectiveness and Do-No-Harm approach.
∎ Represent UCEP Bangladesh in events and forums.
∎ Support business development and growth of business activities and services.
∎ Develop and implement project concept notes/ proposals, business plans, operational manual, project progress/completion reports for UCEP social enterprises as needed to determine time frame, budget, procedures, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
∎ Develop and implement annual business goals, including revenue plan.
∎ Analyze sales figures and devise market and revenue management strategies for all UCEP social enterprises.
∎ Ensure effective and efficient management of budget and accounts.
∎ Develop and offer training and other professional courses and value-added services based on regular market analysis, including risk assessments.
∎ Ensure quality of services through regular reviews and evaluations, including customer feedback.
∎ Supervise administrative functions social business ventures including its procurement, asset management, repair and maintenance, utilities, insurance, safety and security.
∎ Identify business opportunities through market and customer research.
∎ Effectively develop brand image for the business ventures appealing to customers and help increase traffic and expand customer base.
∎ Design and develop appropriate marketing materials, tools and messages to promote UCEP social enterprises.
∎ Manage and develop webpage and social media for image promotion and business.
∎ Ensure timely and regular preparation of progress updates, annual report etc.
∎ Ensure timely and effective communication and follow up of all management decisions to concerned individuals/ groups and vice versa.
∎ Ensure implementation of Decent Work principles especially Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) following OSHA standards.
∎ Ensure that all operations are conducted maintaining proper adherence to safety and security issues/regulations.
∎ Conduct regular inspections and ensure due maintenance of systems and equipment.
∎ Ensure that safety and security systems are fully functional in case of necessity/emergency.
∎ Ensure that employees are adequately oriented with safety issues (emergency exit, use of fire extinguishers etc.).
∎ Design, develop and manage efficient and effective staff management mechanism.
∎ Outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to relevant project staffs.
∎ Supervise the workforce including casual labors, short-term contract and long-term contract staffs, outsourced HR services etc.
∎ Ensure timely attendance and quality performance of all staff members under supervision.
∎ Ensure development and implementation of Annual Work Plans (AWP) with appropriate performance indicators and means of verification.
∎ Ensure proper follow up of staff performance through 360-degree PSM.
∎ Identifying staff learning needs and assisting with their development and growth.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in the development sector of which at least 3 years as director/head of the department level in a large organization.
∎ Experience in developing/leading a large social enterprise will be an added advantage.
∎ Excellent fluency both in Bangla and English.
∎ Excellent computer operating skills & conversant with MS Office package including latest software and e-tools.
∎ Self-motivated, adaptable, team player and has the passion for development activities.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel intensively.
∎ Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
∎ Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, negotiation, and verbal communications.
∎ Excellent skills in budget preparation, concept note, strategic paper, action plan, business paper development will get priority.
∎ A self-starter, highly organized, and entrepreneurial individual with strong business development and marketing skills.
∎ Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
∎ Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and flexible to meet team needs.
∎ Be familiar with technological, commercial and consumer trends.
∎ Age limit for the applicant would be 45 years. Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.
