Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings to ensure alignment across merchandising, operations, quality, design & SCD.
∎ Promote a collaborative, communicative, and performance-driven culture within the merchandising team and with related departments.
∎ Monitor team KPIs and mentor junior members to drive continuous improvement.
∎ Define and implement a sourcing strategy aligned with business goals, quality standards, and sustainability objectives.
∎ Continuously monitor global and local markets for trends in raw materials (fabrics, trims, Sub-Contract fabrics, accessories).
∎ Research and identify potential suppliers based on factors like quality delivery lead-time, price, reliability, ethical practices, and production capabilities.
∎ Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve the best possible value without compromising quality.
∎ Build strategic, long-term partnerships with key suppliers to drive innovation and value.
∎ Evaluate new and existing suppliers based on technical expertise, delivery commitment, compliance, capacity, and quality systems.
∎ Source and develop vendors for fabrics, trims, accessories, and value addition processes (e.g., printing, embroidery, handwork, wash).
∎ Conduct seasonal, division, and work-type-based capacity mapping to ensure adequate supplier coverage for On-Time Delivery (OTD).
∎ Identify and develop FOB suppliers for FOB orders across product categories, prioritizing Fob dependability.
∎ Establish supplier performance benchmarks and monitor through regular evaluation and feedback.
∎ Collaborate with the QA team to ensure that all materials and finished garments meet established quality standards.
∎ Oversee the implementation of corrective actions to resolve quality concerns effectively.
∎ Support the development and maintenance of internal quality manuals, inspection guidelines, and test procedures.
∎ Monitor quality metrics and QA reports to ensure continuous improvement in product standards.
∎ Align with the design, supply chain, and planning teams to accurately forecast and manage material demand.
∎ Regularly review and analyze inventory reports to identify overstock, understock, or obsolete items.
∎ Ensure timely consumption of materials in coordination with relevant departments.
∎ Ensure the use of fabrics and materials within the time line in co ordinations with design teams.
∎ Collaborate with the design and MCD teams to execute strategies for inventory optimization and clearance of non-moving items.
∎ Maintain systematic and accessible documentation for orders, productions, billing, and related processes (both physical and digital).
∎ Ensure all Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders are properly reviewed, approved, and tracked.
∎ Monitor and validate supplier bills to ensure timely submission to the concerned departments with full compliance.
