Job Context:
∎ The organization works with law enforcement agencies to rescue victims of human trafficking and slavery, bring criminal networks to justice and spark systemic change. We empower survivors to rebuild their lives and secure communities at risk from traffickers.
∎ Under the supervision of the Country Director and Legal Advisor, the Manager - Prosecution is responsible to Manage organization`s legal case work through team work with special focus on protection of human trafficking survivors.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage organization's legal case work through team work with special focus on protection of human trafficking survivors
∎ Guide/ oversee the legal team on case by case basis to lead prosecution towards right direction
∎ Regular follow up and visits to courts to assist Special Publc Prosecutors of the Anti Human Trafficking Offence Tribunals (AHOT) in presenting survivors case.
∎ Work as an effective team player and coordinate with Aftercare Team to support with Legal Advice
∎ Facilitate Meetings/ Training / Workshop/ Seminar with Different stakeholders including law enforcement agencies and Judiciary
∎ Prepare periodic and event reports and required by the organization
∎ Work closely with the Legal Adviser and assist him in preparing appeals/ petitions for higher courts.
∎ Liaise and network with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the programs
∎ Assist in doing case inquiries/ investigations when and as required
∎ Assist Country Director in shaping and scaling up prosecution program
∎ Assist in doing brief study/ review
∎ Work on other assignments as required by the management
Additional Requirements:
∎ 3 years of work experience in prosecution, preferably in human trafficking cases
∎ Enrolled as an Advocate for 5 years (Required)
∎ Knowledge and experience in dealing with human trafficking cases is preferable
∎ Excellent command of English writing and speaking
∎ Knowledge of relevant laws and acts that impact the work of Anti Human Trafficking
∎ Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
∎ Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal tactfully and build effective relationships with people across levels, both internally and externally
∎ Good computer skills specifically MS Office as well as familiarity with inter/intranet, Google Drive etc.
∎ Strong verbal and written communication as well as documentation and reporting skills in English and Bangla
∎ Proactive and self-motivated
∎ Willingness to travel 60% of the time
Salary: Tk. 70000 - 80000 (Monthly)
