Position Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer in the MEP department is responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems in construction projects. Working closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders, the Mechanical Engineer ensures the effective integration of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, and fire protection systems to meet project requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• 01. Mechanical Design: Develop detailed mechanical design drawings, specifications, and calculations for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, based on project requirements, codes, and standards.
• 02. HVAC Design: Design HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation, selecting equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls to provide comfortable and efficient indoor environments.
• 03. Plumbing Design: Design plumbing systems, including domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, and stormwater drainage, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes, regulations, and sustainability requirements.
• 04. Fire Protection Design: Design fire protection systems, including fire suppression, sprinkler, and alarm systems, incorporating fire safety measures and building code requirements.
• 05. Coordination: Coordinate mechanical design activities with architects, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems with building layout, structure, and other MEP systems.
• 06. Code Compliance: Ensure that mechanical designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards, and obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.
• 07. Equipment Selection: Select appropriate mechanical equipment, fixtures, and components, including HVAC units, pumps, valves, and fire suppression devices, based on project requirements, energy efficiency goals, and budget constraints.
• 08. Load Calculations: Perform heating and cooling load calculations to size HVAC equipment and determine airflow and temperature requirements for each space within buildings.
• 09. Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and vendors on mechanical design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities, resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
• 10. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance reviews of mechanical design documents, drawings, and specifications to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
