Responsibilities & Context:

The Material Development & Localization Manager will be responsible for driving material development and localization initiatives to optimize cost, reduce lead time, and support business sustainability objectives. The role will focus on developing, duplicating, sourcing, and localizing footwear materials in alignment with global standards and local business requirements.

The incumbent will work closely with Design, Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Supplier teams to ensure materials meet performance, quality, cost, sustainability, and timeline expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute material localization strategies in coordination with global and local stakeholders

• Develop, duplicate, source, and localize materials in line with the TCR calendar

• Build and maintain a localized material library for footwear products

• Lead development and sourcing of upper materials, lining, outsole, trims, compounds, packaging, and sustainable materials

• Conduct supplier research and evaluation to ensure best value, quality, and delivery performance

• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth material development and execution

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers

• Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers

• Drive cost optimization and supplier performance improvement initiatives

• Conduct value analysis and cost-saving reviews for existing materials and supplier arrangements

• Monitor material quality, testing, compliance, and sustainability standards

• Analyze spending, supplier performance, and sourcing data; prepare reports and recommendations

• Evaluate supplier quotations and technical proposals based on commercial and technical feasibility

• Ensure suppliers understand and align with organizational business objectives and expectations
