Responsibilities & Context:
To implement and maintain the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards and Quality Manual requirements to ensure the lab meets international accreditation levels.
To plan and conduct internal audits and management reviews to track laboratory performance and ensure compliance with quality goals.
To investigate buyer complaints by performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and monitoring trends to prevent reoccurrence.
To manage risk assessment of all laboratory activities, proposing and executing mitigation plans to secure the testing process.
To oversee 3rd party testing, including sending samples to external labs and verifying the accuracy of received test reports.
To coordinate with Merchandising and Production during weekly meetings to discuss risk factors and eliminate "Stop Orders" caused by physical test failures.
To ensure technical accuracy by verifying and validating test methods, authorizing final reports, and discarding results if the process integrity is doubted.
To supervise procurement compliance by ensuring the purchase department only uses approved suppliers and subcontractors as per lab standards.
To train and monitor staff, ensuring lab technicians perform tests impartially, follow stated methods, and maintain strict confidentiality.
To manage sample retention and operational efficiency, continually suggesting improvements to achieve better lab performance.
