Strong knowledge of financial accounting, auditing standards, internal controls, risk assessment, and audit-reporting practices.

Proven capability in material, inventory, production, procurement, and operational audits.

Ability to analyse large volumes of financial and operational data and identify unusual patterns or control exceptions.

Sound understanding of VAT, tax, regulatory compliance, and applicable business laws in Bangladesh.Proficiency in ERP or accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and data-driven audit techniques.

Strong report-writing, presentation, interviewing, and stakeholder-management skills.High level of professional integrity, independence, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

Ability to travel to factories, project sites, warehouses, distribution points, and other business locations as required.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Develop and execute risk-based annual and periodic audit plans covering the Group’s publishing, agro-based, and real estate businesses.

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of financial transactions, books of accounts, supporting documents, bank reconciliations, receivables, payables, advances, expenses, revenue recognition, and statutory records.

  • Perform detailed material, inventory, and stock audits covering procurement, receipt, storage, issuance, consumption, transfer, wastage, damage, returns, and physical stock verification.

  • Review production and material consumption against approved bills of materials, budgets, standards, and actual output.

  • Audit printing materials, paper, ink, finished books, agricultural inputs, raw materials, finished goods, construction materials, and other business-specific inventories.

  • Conduct operational audits to evaluate process efficiency, resource utilization, productivity, cost control, compliance, and achievement of operational objectives.

  • Review procurement processes, vendor selection, comparative statements, purchase orders, delivery records, pricing, and payment controls.

  • Audit real estate activities, including project expenditure, contractor and supplier bills, work-in-progress, material consumption, project budgets, customer collections, land-related payments, and project profitability.

  • Review sales, distribution, returns, discounts, commissions, credit control, and collection processes within the publishing and other business operations.

  • Identify financial leakage, control gaps, process inefficiencies, fraud risks, irregularities, and non-compliance with approved policies.

  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, delegated authority, approval mechanisms, and segregation of duties.

  • Conduct surprise audits, physical verification, special investigations, and management-directed assignments when required.

  • Prepare clear, evidence-based audit reports highlighting observations, financial and operational implications, risk ratings, root causes, and practical recommendations.

  • Present significant audit findings to Group Management and support responsible departments in developing corrective action plans.

  • Maintain an audit-observation tracker and follow up regularly to ensure timely implementation of agreed corrective measures.

  • Support the development and improvement of audit programmes, standard operating procedures, control frameworks, and risk-management practices.

  • Coordinate with external auditors, finance teams, operational departments, and other relevant stakeholders as required.

  • Maintain the highest standards of professional independence, confidentiality, integrity, and objectivity.
