Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Under the supervision of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Coordinator, the Manager is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of emergency preparedness and response interventions across the Rohingya, host community, and other regions of Bangladesh. The position will reinforce organizational and partner-led emergency preparedness and response efforts before, during, and after climate-induced disasters; oversee and support EPR-related work of program and operation teams; and ensure technical support to partners.
∎ To ensure context-specific disaster & climate risks are identified for designing disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation, resilience programme, and taking appropriate preparedness measures
∎ To provide training and support to the IRC and partner staff responsible for effective emergency preparedness and response.
∎ Department: Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR)
∎ Contract length: 1 year (with possibility of extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
∎ Work Location: IRC-Bangladesh, Ukhiya Office
∎ Reporting to: Head of Emergency and Resilience Program
