∎ Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
Requirements:
Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven experience as a Designer in the RMG sector, with a strong portfolio showcasing original design work.
∎ Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO and CAD software.
∎ Ability to sketch or illustrate designs by hand.
∎ Excellent knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and sewing techniques.
∎ Strong understanding of textiles, fabrics, and materials, including their properties and applications.
∎ Creative flair, artistic talent, and a keen eye for detail.
∎ Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
∎ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
∎ Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers.
∎ Knowledge of sustainability practices and eco-friendly materials in the fashion industry.
∎ Familiarity with garment production processes and supply chain management.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conceptualization and Design: Generate fresh and innovative ideas for new clothing designs based on market research, trend analysis, and buyer preferences. Translate concepts into sketches, mood boards, and digital designs.
∎ Technical Design: Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for garment construction, including measurements, materials, and manufacturing techniques. Ensure designs are technically feasible and optimized for production efficiency.
∎ Material Selection: Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments for each design, considering factors such as durability, comfort, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain relationships with suppliers and stay informed about industry developments.
∎ Prototyping and Sampling: Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples to test designs and make necessary adjustments. Collaborate with patternmakers, sample makers, and sewers to ensure accurate execution of designs.
∎ Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality inspections of samples and finished products to ensure they meet design specifications, fit requirements, and quality standards. Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
∎ Market Research and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings. Analyze market data and customer feedback to inform design decisions and product development strategies.
∎ Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and sales, to align on design objectives, timelines, and priorities. Effectively communicate design concepts, requirements, and feedback throughout the development process.
