Experience:
Bachelor or masters in any discipline
15–20 years of experience in export-oriented woven garments manufacturing.
Minimum 7 years in a senior production leadership role (DGM/GM/Head of Production).
Proven experience managing large-scale production operations from Cutting to Shipment.
Strong knowledge of woven garment manufacturing processes.
Expertise in Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, Packing, and Shipment management.
Excellent knowledge of production planning and capacity management.
Strong understanding of Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and productivity improvement.
Experience working with renowned international apparel buyers.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
Job Context:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven General Manager – Production (Sewing) to lead the complete production operations of our woven garments manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process—from Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, Packing, to Shipment—ensuring on-time delivery, superior product quality, optimum productivity, cost efficiency, and full compliance with buyer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Capacity Forecasting: Analyze factory capacity (machine and manpower) against order projections to ensure 100% utilization.
Order Allocation: Strategically allocate styles to specific sewing lines based on complexity and operator skill sets.
TNA Management: Monitor the Time & Action (TNA) calendar for every order, ensuring cutting, sewing, and finishing stay on track for shipment dates.
Resource Planning: Review and approve requirements for machinery, folders, attachments, and specialized equipment before bulk production starts.
Line Balancing: Oversee Industrial Engineering (IE) teams to optimize line layouts and minimize bottlenecks in the sewing hall.
AQL Standards: Ensure all production lines adhere to the required Acceptable Quality Level (AQL).
Zero-Defect Culture: Implement "Right First Time" (RFT) quality protocols to reduce rework and reject rates.
Compliance: Maintain a factory environment that meets international social and safety compliance standards (e.g., WRAP, BSCI, SEDEX)
CMT Analysis: Work closely with the merchandising team to provide accurate Cut, Make, and Trim (CMT) costings.
KPI Tracking: Monitor critical metrics including:
Cut-to-Ship Ratio: Aiming as close to 1:1 as possible.
DHU (Defects per Hundred Units): Aiming for continuous reduction.
