Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Production Engineering (IPE), Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Industrial Engineering will be considered an advantage.
10–15 years of experience in Industrial Engineering within a reputed Woven Garments Manufacturing Factory.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a senior managerial role (Sr. Manager/AGM –IE).
Strong experience working with internationally reputed buyers.
Strong knowledge of SMV calculation, GSD, Time Study, Motion Study, Capacity Planning, and Line Balancing.
Hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Job Context
We are looking for a dynamic, analytical, and experienced Assistant General Manager – Industrial Engineering (IE) to lead the Industrial Engineering function of our Woven Garments Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving production efficiency, optimizing manpower utilization, enhancing productivity, reducing manufacturing costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all production lines.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Industrial Engineering (IE) department for the Woven Garments Factory.
Develop and implement productivity improvement strategies to achieve production and efficiency targets.
Conduct operation breakdown, method study, work measurement, time study, and motion study to optimize production processes.
Prepare accurate SMV (Standard Minute Value) and production capacity planning for all styles.
Analyze line performance and recommend corrective actions to improve line efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
Ensure effective line layout, workstation balancing, and manpower optimization.
Monitor daily production performance, efficiency, absenteeism, and DHU (Defects per Hundred Units), and provide analytical reports to management.
Coordinate with Merchandising, Planning, Technical, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
Develop production layouts for new styles to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
Lead capacity planning, machine requirement analysis, and resource allocation.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for productivity losses and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Train and develop IE team members, supervisors, and production staff on productivity improvement techniques.
Prepare weekly and monthly productivity reports, dashboards, and KPI analysis for management review.
Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Support cost reduction initiatives through process optimization and waste elimination.
Drive automation and digitalization initiatives within the IE function where applicable.
Perform any other responsibilities assigned by management.
