Job Context:
∎ For the team of our "Fostering and Advancing Sustainable Business and Responsible Industrial Practices in the Clothing Industry in Asia" (hereafter FABRIC) we seek applications from suitable candidates for the position of "Junior Advisor- Chemical Management".
∎ Contract Duration till: March 31, 2023
∎ Band: 3T

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibilities
∎ Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups
∎ Support the supervisor on all task when implementing GIZ rules and regulation
∎ Support the supervisor in the field of project's planning, steering and monitoring
∎ Assisting by implement goals and requirements set by the line manager
∎ Assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solution
∎ Support in the monitoring and reporting
∎ Support to maintain digital learning platforms to organize webinars and support to prepare feedback session, technical reporting, learning materials, case studies
∎ The Junior Advisor performs the following tasks:
∎ Tasks:
∎ Project Coordination:
∎ The Junior Advisor manages the field of activity by applying high standards of strategy development, project and, process design, monitoring of resources and budget, and management, communication and reporting, including:
∎ Assist for project and strategy development
∎ Support in monitoring and steer consultants
∎ monitoring and reporting:
∎ Identifying follow up or parallel acquisition opportunities for chemical management related activities.
∎ Attend meetings and maintain good network with internal stakeholders (especially FABRIC) and external stakeholders and project partners including brands, business associations, university, and relevant stakeholders
∎ Support programme for improvement of environmental performance of with the focus on capacity development on sustainable chemical management and improve in the area of chemical, water and energy
∎ Professional Technical activity implementation and advisory services
∎ Technical and content-related concept development and implementation of the project.
∎ Providing professional advice to team members, partners and relevant stakeholders.
∎ Networking and Cooperation
∎ Ensuring cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with project partners and relevant stakeholders; developing, establishing and maintaining new partnerships.
∎ Supporting the alignment of embed activities of brands and activities in existing local structures with GIZ activities.
∎ Supporting out public relations work and cooperating with relevant organisations, non-governmental agencies and individuals.
∎ Knowledge Management
∎ Reporting on project progress to DSHC/develoPPP and FABRIC at GIZ.
∎ Documenting of monitoring and evaluation findings.
∎ Compiling evaluation findings, lessons learnt and best practices, and ensures knowledge transfer among partners, different GIZ project scoping mission.
∎ Advise and recommend alternative project adaptions if necessary
∎ Other Tasks:
∎ Familiarizes with GIZ-specific planning, implementation and reporting procedures and its changes is a benefit.
∎ Represents the interests and always acts on behalf of the GIZ-project.
∎ Carries out further tasks if agreed jointly with develoPPP.de Project Manager relevant to the project/programme which may not be explicitly mentioned in the ToR.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Professional Experience
∎ At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of private sector cooperation and consultation with the background on environment related topics, knowledge about chemical management in textile industries is a benefit.
∎ Familiar with local and regional rules/Act/codes/standards/ guidelines in terms of corporate responsibility for textile or manufacturing industry. i.e. environmental sustainability like toxic chemicals, hazardous waste decent working conditions etc. ZDHC guidelines, wastewater discharge, REACH, Brand RSL, ZDHC RSL/MRSL, etc.
∎ Familiar with international certification on environmental management system (e.g. ISO 14001:2015, OEKO TEX, GOTS, Higg Index etc.).
∎ Working experience in the setting of international cooperation and development agencies (5 years) would be a benefit.
∎ Other Qualifications:
∎ Ability to work well under pressure and must be a strong team player
∎ Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
∎ Knowledge on international compliance standards in the RMG industry.
∎ Good working knowledge of ICT technologies.
∎ Good language skills in Bengali and English (both in writing and speaking).
∎ Self-confident and professional attitude working in factory environment with factory managements also in conflicting situations.
∎ Transferable knowledge/coaching/training skills for adult learning.
