Job Context:
∎ Muslim Aid is an international not-for-profit organization providing support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background. We place strong emphasis on long-term development projects that build the capacity of local people helping themselves. In addition to the 11 country offices worldwide we also work with multiple partner offices focussing on sustainable development programmes and providing humanitarian relief during times of crisis.
∎ As a part of country’s Technical and Vocational Education Programme (TVET)/Skills Development Programme several units of Muslim Aid Institute of Technology (MAIT) have been established to implement TVET and skills promotion activities. It is one of the major programmes of Muslim Aid Bangladesh Field Office (MABFO) started in 2001. The main objective of this programme is to up-scale skills of the underprivileged youths, the targeted beneficiaries, and to expand their employment opportunities. MAITs are located in Dhaka, Jessore, Chittagong and Rangpur that offer quality skills training on market driven trade courses such as dress making and tailoring, computer office application, graphics design and multimedia, outsourcing, computer hardware and networking, mobile phone servicing, electrical wiring, electronics engineering (TV, IPS, UPS, stabilizer and solar etc.), refrigerator and air conditioning, driving and auto mechanics, food and beverage services, and housekeeping. In offering courses, MAITs follow government’s National Technical and Vocational Quality Framework (NTVQF). Affiliated with Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), MAITs also have been running diploma courses. TVET programmes aim at contributing to implementing the UN declared Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), government’s Seventh Five-year Plan and the Vision 2021.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plan actual course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement.
∎ Develops and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audiovisual, computers, and the internet.
∎ Conduct training class/sessions by planning and developing course curricular according to the guideline or Competency Standards/course curricula and other training and learning materials.
∎ Monitors, assists, corrects, and grades students’ exams by preparing assignments and tests for preparation and homework considering formative and summative assessment
∎ Ensures inclusive training delivery through engaging all learners actively.
∎ Support to In-charge of Training Centre/Principal to communicate with BTEB for the summative assessment and ensure assessment facilities.
∎ Maintains order in the classroom by counseling students with behavioral problems; consulting with other professionals where there appears to be evidence of learning disabilities, drug, or alcohol abuse, problems of social adjustment, or child abuse.
∎ Provide extra care for week students/slow learners.
∎ Prepare case study when necessary.
∎ Intercepts deterioration in achievement by counseling students with academic difficulties; drawing on the institute system's resources for additional academic assistance.
∎ Ensures the students presence in classes
∎ Ensures job placement of students graduated from the trade
∎ Maintains safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
∎ Keep all information of the students and provide them to the management as per need.
∎ Keeps parents informed by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation; reporting on all elements of student development at parent-teacher conferences, both regularly scheduled and as-needed.
∎ Regularly updated, trade wise inventory, keeps individual asset record including tools & equipment, training & education materials, training raw materials to ensure their proper utilization.
∎ Maintain the practical equipment.
∎ Motivating students and provide career guideline.
∎ Updates job knowledge by attending faculty meetings; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
∎ Enhances institute’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
∎ Maintain Child Protection policy and community approach.
∎ Maintain networks and liaison with related local government offices, other institutions, workshops and industries.
∎ Follow up for irregular students.
∎ Ready for work as per management decision.
∎ Provide support to management for students’ enrolment.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least Diploma in relevant field as per required position
∎ A minimum of two years of experience in relevant field.
∎ In-depth knowledge in their particular trade
∎ Familiarity with productivity tools, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Ability to work in and with a diverse team.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and critical situation.
∎ Ability to execute an event with positive result.
∎ Ability to work without supervision.

Salary: Tk. 15000 - 20000 (Monthly)
